Thorn of Betrayal

Chapter4

Alicia POV

I froze when she asked me that question, it was unexpected but i had expected her to say something that would make my mood shift but not like this. She had reminded me of the one person that I left behind in this pursuit of love.

“I have not spoken to him, I have not talked to him since I left the house and I know he has been trying to get through to me but I don't know what I am going to say if he calls me. I know there are many things to say but I really don't know how to tell him.” I looked down when I realized that there was no way I could do anything more without calling my father.

“You have to call him soon enough, I know you think that he hates you but he doesn't hate you in the slightest and he will always love you the same way he has loved you all these years and nothing will even change it.”

Tessy was not lying, he was trying to make sure that I wont get hurt and he was right all along. If I had listened to him then maybe I wouldn't be in this mess.

“I will call him soon, thank you for calling Tess. I really appreciate it. I really do, I needed to hear from someone that was going to tell me that I was doing fine.”

“Well you are like a sister to me so yeah I will always call to check up on you. And now I am going to be sure to check on all the time.”

I smiled when I heard that she was going to make sure that I was okay, I needed someone that was going to make sure that nothing was wrong with me. I needed her to know that I was happy, “Okay Alicia, I will be calling you soon.” The line went dead, I smiled knowing that even if it was for a few minutes I was happy.

I got up from where I was sitting and decided to go downstairs. I was going to see Andrew and his family but they were not there. Rebecca was the one in the living room. I had to tell them about my pregnancy, I was sure they would be happy to know that I was pregnant.

“Where is everyone?” I whispered to myself, I tried to avoid eye contact with Rebecca but she was glaring at me like there was something else on her mind. ‘Since they are not here, I guess I will head back inside.’

“I don't know what you think it is you are trying to do but I will see to it that no one believes you.” Rebecca said the moment I turned to leave, I was shocked a bit because I didn't expect her to say anything or even react.

“What in the world are you talking about?” I looked at her, she stood up and started walking towards me. I was trying to keep my distance from her, I knew it was going to be trouble if she was to say anything happened to her when she was talking to me.

“You think I don't know what you are trying to do? I know all your tricks and games. You will not be able to fool me that easily. I will see to it that you will feel all sorts of pain.” Rebecca was looking at me, something didn't feel right about whatever it was she was doing.

I knew there had to be something making her behave like that. I was looking at her trying to find out what it was she was planning to do but there was no way for me to know.

“What in the world are you saying? Have you gone mad?” I was beginning to get irritated because there was no way to explain what she was doing or saying other than she was a crazy psycho.

“You think that they will believe that fake pregnancy document in your hands, I will see to it that they don't even listen to a word you have to say and you are thrown out of this house.” Rebecca was now acting like a deranged person and this character of hers was absolutely scary.

“I don't want any trouble Rebecca, I want to go back to my room in peace and not cause any trouble.” I turned to leave but Rebecca grabbed me by the hand, it was a struggle.

I couldn't let her do anything to the paper or even make me fall, but she was not trying to let go. “Rebecca, what are you doing? Why are you acting this way?” I was still trying to balance myself to avoid us falling from the stairs but it was not going to be easy, not by a long shot.

Before I could think of anything else, we tripped from the stairs. I looked down in my direction and it was like a planned move, there was a glass table there.

I landed on the glass table shattering it, I couldn't move for some time. I looked around to see bright red coming from my body and it was like pain all over me. The floor was soon covered with my blood and I was losing consciousness. I turned to see that Rebecca was a bit okay and there was someone else there with her.

“What do we do? I was the one meant to land there not her. Now we have to think of a way to make sure that she doesn't tell anyone or no one sees us here with her like this.” Their voices were faint but I knew what I was hearing, they had planned for Rebecca to fall on the glass.

“I know a way but you will have to trust me.” I heard the other lady say, before I lost consciousness. I was not sure what was going on but I didn't like it one bit.

I opened my eyes in a hospital room, I was still not fully conscious but it was the best thing that I was awake. I looked to my left and I saw Andrew sitting there with a stern look on his face.

“Andrew?” I called out faintly, I knew there was no way for me to speak louder.

He turned to me with what looked like anger in his eyes, “Why Alicia? Why did you try to kill Rebecca?”
