Alicia POV
I was not ready to let her have the last laugh, not in the slightest way, she was going to have to understand her place in this house if she was going to be here.
Rebecca didn't say a word, she stood there looking at me like there was something sinister going on in her head. I wanted to be sure that I was not going to be part of something that would be the end of me.
“You really think that I will let you stay here? I will make sure that the entire part of this house is unbearable for you, you will regret that you ever crossed paths with me.” Rebecca sounded serious, but there was no way I was going to let her do anything to intimidate me.
“I won't regret anything, all your threats are empty ones Rebecca. If you really were something then you would know what you are going up against. I will make sure that you regret every step you take trying to take my husband from me." On a normal note I would not think of threatening Rebecca but it was like there was no other way for me to escape her torment if I didn't get her off my back. I needed the rest for my child and me.
“You have a feisty tongue, you know I see why Andrew has not yet thrown you out of the house. But now I am here, I will see to it that you are out of here in no time.” Rebecca smiled, she was trying to be some kind of mysterious lady, it was not working. I knew she was going to do something that was going to make me lose my position.
I looked at Rebecca, I didn't want to say any other thing to her but there was something that was not sitting right with me. I wondered what she was going to try, it was a clear fact that she was going to make sure there was no easy time for me here.
“The only thing you can do is to keep yourself away from Andrew, you might have something growing in you. I know you might think that in any way that the child in your womb is his but I am telling you this and I am telling it to you now, leave Andrew alone. We were happily married before you came here.” I was looking at Rebecca, it was like she was not expecting me to react the way I did. I was looking at her, she was silent but this was not the right thing for her to do.
“You are one funny girl, I know what you are thinking, but there is no way this family would want anything to do with a gold digging scumbag like you. I would like to advise you to go meet Andrew for a divorce because there is no room for you here.” Rebecca was looking at me, she was going to be shocked that she was talking to one of the most stubborn beings on the planet.
I was scared for a minute, the entire family wanted me to leave. It was clear enough to me that they did not want me there and I was only staying to make sure I didn't lose my husband.
‘Well, I have been here almost four years and they have tried everything to make sure I leave the house but they have not done anything to make me want to leave.’ I was still looking at Rebecca, I was certain that nothing was ever going to make me sign for divorce.
“I will remain here and I will be sure that I remain here, you may leave this room now it is still my room and not yours.” I was pointing at the door, Rebecca had seen there was no way for her to even make me feel like I was some kind of failure.
She stepped back and muttered something before leaving the room, I was looking at her as I closed the doors. My heart was heavy but I knew it was the best thing to do in order to make sure that she did not intimidate me.
I sat slowly when I remembered that I had not delivered my news to Andrew. I was heartbroken and I knew there was no way for me to do anything about it but to remain strong and tell him when the time was right enough.
‘Ring, Ring’ snapped out of my daze when I heard my phone ringing. I got up and I reached for my purse and I pulled out my phone to see Tessy calling.
“Tess? What in the world? It's been months since I heard from you.” I was happy she called, she was the only person I could talk to without being afraid that she would try to make me feel bad.
“Cmon, it's only been a few months I knew you could keep up without my calls besides you're a strong girl. So how are you doing? I hope you are okay over there?” Tessy was the only person who knew who I really was, she could call my parents and tell them what would happen if I told her that I was not okay.
“It's been fantastic, I was about to give you a call and tell you that I am expecting a baby.”
There was a sudden silence for some minutes, I knew there was no way she was going to take it all normal.
“Wow! This is awesome news, there is no way I was prepared for this in one bit. I am happy for you.”
“Thank you, I am really happy and I would love to see the look on your face.”
“Not going to lie, you had me for a second, I thought I was hearing things.”
The both of us were lost in laughter, it was soothing for me to hear her voice. I was relieved that she called me at this moment, “So Alicia, have you talked to your parents? Your dad h
as been asking about you for a long time.”
