Not Fair

I awaken to a faint knocking on my door. I rubbed my eyes, and look to my right seeing Julien was still soundly asleep. "Who is it?" I called out to whoever was at my door. "It's me sweetie." My mom's voice responded softly. I began to panic as I realized that Julien was still here and my mother was at my door, probably wanting to come in. I shook Julien vigorously, desperate to wake him. His eyes popped open after the third time. Covering his mouth with my hand and putting my finger to my lips. Telling him to keep quiet. I nodded towards my door with my head, the mouthed the word 'mother'. Julien was quick to jump up and run to my balcony. Hidden in a shadded area. "Coming mother." I yelled, as I sprayed perfume around my room, trying to rid my room of Julien's scent. I opened the door to reveal my mother, with her ear to my door. "What are you doing?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She has always been nosy, once I hit the age of 13. I don't know why, she wasn't too involved in my life before so why start then. By time I had hit 13 I didn't care if my parents were involved in my life or not. I had Julien to depend on. I didn't like talking to my mother then and I don't like talking to her now. So every time she came to my room, I was suspicious. "I was just coming to talk to you, darling." She refused to answer my earlier question because she and I both knew she was just trying to listen in on me. I rolled my eyes. She wanted something. "What about mom?" I replied with a bored face. She only ever wanted to talk to me about something she or my father wanted me to do, but I didn't. "The party dear, it's tonight and you will be attending along  with your father and I." "I never agreed to going mother, and I still don't agree." I said in a matter of fact tone. "But your father and I already told everyone you would be there, and plus we even bought you a dress to wear." I knew this was no longer up for debate, but that didn't mean I couldn't put up a fight. "Mother I don't see how it's fair of you or father to put me on the spot. You knew I didn't want to go but you still insisted on telling everyone that I was coming and buying a dress. Just have someone send the dress up." My mother's face lit up in excitement, but I just rolled my eyes and gently shut my door and locked it. I rested my head against the door, when I heard Julien's voice behind me. "Is everything okay Ari?" I sighed before answering Julien. "No, I have to go out and pretend that I'm happy. Act like my parents and I are a real family when in reality I never see them unless we have an event to go to." I didn't feel the tears go down my face until I felt Julien's cold finger wipe my tears away. "Arianna, it's just a few hours. I know that it hurts you to act in front of all these pack members, but I know you can do it." " Julien, what bothers me is that I would give any thing to actually have a real relationship with my parents and not this fake image we put on. I just... There was another knock at my door and a small voice belonging to one of the maids. Julien hid like normal as I went to answer the door. It was my personal maid Cassandra at the door with a floor length dress in her hand. "Thank you for bringing  this to me Sandra." I smiled at her. Taking the dress from her. "No problem Arianna, and might I say I know you'll look stunning in that dress." I blushed slightly. She has always been so sweet to me. She was actually the main person who raised me. So she was like a mother to me and her opinion and her comments meant a lot to me. "Thank you Sandra, and do you mind helping me into this dress after I get out of the shower?" " I do not mind at all, just holler and I will be here to help." She said while giving my cheek a small pinch. I laughed at Sandra before entering my room once again. "Hey Ari, I'm going to let my self out because I know your going to be busy with everything, but I'll see you tomorrow." Julien gave me a hug along with a gently kiss on my forehead before he vanished out of my room. I then began to get ready.
