I was was a picture of true beauty, in the words of Sandra. The smile on her face said it all. She, had helped me into the lavish gown. Zipping it up, as I stared into the body length mirror. The final piece to the puzzle. My dark hair was down in a neat fashion. Lips a dark, but rich red, and my makeup was a natural tone; helping my bronze gold gown stand out. The length and style of the dress hit all the perfect spots. My body looked slimmer but with the right amount of curve to it.
This dress was made for me. I turned to look at Cassandra.
"How do I look?" I asked softly with a raise of my hands; like a this is it moment.
She clapped her hands over her mouth as she let out a small cry. Trying not to let her tears fall.
"You look stunning, darling. I know the man that you pick is a lucky one. You are not yet a full woman, but my have you grown into a magnificent young woman. I'm so proud."
I let a single tear go, before I dabbed it away with a tissue.
"Thank you, Sandra."
She and I shared a small mother daughter moment, with a hug. Cassandra, let go but held me out at arms length.
"We need to get you down stairs and into the car, before your mother comes looking for you."
Sandra, led the way out of my room to the top step of the stairs. My mother and father looked up to get a look at me. I could tell that they were proud of me. It shown in their eyes. I never wanted to disappoint them, and this was how I was going show them that I was ready to be alpha. Without a mate.
I slowly made my way down the steps with Cassandra trailing behind me. At the bottom step, I was greeted by my parents.
"Arianna, you look amazing. I feel like tonight is the night you'll find your mate."
"Mother, I'm not of age yet to even find my mate. My birthday is in 2 months."
She just blew me off and continued to ramble on about my mate and how it's probably Alpha Jackson's son Daniel. Their pack was ranked 2nd in the world; behind my family's pack of course. I rolled my eyes at her, but continued to keep a positive mind and smile on my face.
The ride over to the banquet hall was the longest hour of my life. The whole time my parents were trying to inform me about all the people who were going to be here. They even mentioned that vampires were going to be here. Well only high ranking vampire, as well as werewolves. They were putting so much stress on me that I couldn't help but feel faint. I had to roll the window down and get a some fresh air into my lungs.
I couldn't let them down, not now. This party was going to make or brake me.
This was it.
We were here.
My father was the first person out of the car. After he was out he gave my mother his hand and helped her out. Like a good mate. I smiled briefly at their show of affection. I could only wish for that but I didn't need a mate to dictate who I was.
I cleared my mind, before I stepped one foot out of the car. Mentally preparing myself.
A muscular hand then reached inside the car. Asking for my hand. I gently put my hand into this guys hand. He softly pulled me out of the car and onto my feet. I smiled at him in a friendly way.
"Thank you."
"My pleaser Miss Wolfe."
With a curt nod he released my hand and began to help tend to the next car.
I could hear and feel the rhythm of the music coming from within the building. And I could feel my nerves growing with each step I took.
I was now inside the building, looking around franticly for my parents. I wasn't pay much attention and I ran into someone. I didn't fall, but instead bounced off the person.
I knew that the person was a wolf from the way they smelled. I looked up and seen a gorgeous guy. Mocha skin color with light eyes. He was blindingly handsome, and I had just ran into him. Not a good way to start, if you ask me.
"I'm so sorry for running into you. I was looking for my parents and I wasn't looking at where I was going."
He smiled softly at me. His eyes gleaming with happiness.
"No, it is fine. It is I who should be apologizing. You nearly fell and hurt yourself. I think you and I should of been paying more attention. By the way I'm James. James Aven, and I'm with the Dark Blood pack. You are?"
I blushed slightly at my rudeness. My mother would of been displeased with me for not properly introducing myself before hand.
"I am Arianna Wolfe, or Ari for short and I'm with the Black Wolfe pack."
I outstretched my hand, as to shake his hand but James had other plans. He gently grasped my hand and brought it to his lips. Sweetly planting a soft kiss on it.
"It's a pleaser to meet you Arianna."
"The pleaser is all mine."
I replied as I slowly brought my hand back to my side.
"Maybe later tonight, you and I can share a dance with one another. You know. Get to know each other better."
My heart skipped a beat. He actually wanted a chance to get to know me. Maybe this party wouldn't be that bad after all.
"That would be wonderful, but I must leave so that I can find my parents."
We said our goodbyes before James and I parted ways. I on the hunt for my parents.
