After many minutes of searching for my parents, I had finally found them. They were conversing with another couple who's attire equally matched my parents.
Must be high on the Royal list. Silently, I made my way to my parents and the other couple. Once I was close enough, I made sure that I made my presence know but I didn't want to interrupt. So I stood next to my mother and discreetly tapped her on her forearm. She turned her head as to give me a glance. She smiled brightly at me as she wrapped an arm around my side.
"Mr. and Mrs. Harrington this is our daughter Arianna. Arianna this is Alpha Jackson and his lovely wife as well as mate Luna Penelope."
I said my hellos' to the two as my mother continued to tell them about me and my many qualities.
"Their son is Daniel, remember. I think you and Daniel would be a perfect couple, what do you think Luna Penelope?"
Luna Penelope couldn't stop smiling. She was completely on board with everything that my mother said. From the 'Daniel and you should go on a date' to the 'you two are going to be wonderful mates." I had never met Daniel before, and I wasn't too happy with two of these women planning out my life.
Like I said Daniel and I have never met before, but I do hear stories about him. They aren't really bad stories but they aren't really good stories ether. I know you shouldn't judge someone based off of rumors, but that's all I have.
"Arianna?"
"Yes, mother?"
"Don't you agree?
"I thinks it a little soon to tell, but who knows maybe Daniel and I will be mates."
I came up with the best response that I could conjure up. The two women nodded their heads in agreement, thank the moon goddess they liked my response, because if they didn't my mother and father both would of had a comment about it.
I kept on my best face, as my parents continued to talk more and more with the Harrington's . I grew a tad bit bored and decided I would check out what was going on, on the dance floor. But first I need to politely excuse myself.
"Mother, is it okay if I go and talk with some people down by the dance floor."
"Maybe in a little bit Ari, but first I must take you to meet with the ruler of Vampires. "
I gave her a shocked look. Why does an Alpha female need to meet with the vampire King?
"May I ask why?"
"First things first Ari, you must know your enemy and know what you're up against when you come into full power. Plus it's always good to start off on the right foot with someone."
I nodded my head, understanding completely.
"Let us, say goodbye to the Harrington's first and then you, your father and I can make our way to meet the king."
We quickly said our goodbyes, and then we slowly started to walk to a different part of the building. The side where the king was said to be. I was deathly nervous. I mean what if he didn't like me? What if I said the wrong thing? What if I don't like him?
I just don't want to start on the wrong foot with him. He plays a huge role in my future as alpha. I've learned over time ,that he is one of our biggest suppliers of blood and slaves along with many other goods. So this meeting must go perfect.
I was practicing what I would say in my head, as we walked. What topics I should talk about and what topics I should try to avoid, but I still practiced those topics to avoid. Just in case the king tried to test me or my knowledge.
As I prepared I could feel my parents steps slow down more and more. Soon I felt them come to a stop, as did I.
"Okay Arianna, there he is over there in that secluded booth. Go and introduce yourself."
My father finally said. I nodded my head. I glided over the floor and towards the booth. I slowly walked up the steps leading to the booth, when his guards informed him about his visitor. As I reached the entrance, I heard a deep voice speak.
"State you name and reason for approaching me."
"Well I'm the future alpha of the Black Wolfe pack and I wanted a chance to formally introduce myself. I'm Arianna Wolfe."
That's when the king whipped around and finally revealed hisself to me.
"J-Julien?" I whispered flabbergasted.
"You're the king of vampires? How could you? How could you keep this from me?"
I marched my way into the booth and stood angry in front of Julien.
"Ari. I'm sorry, but I couldn't tell you. I knew you would find out sooner or later, but I wanted you to find out on your own."
"Don't you try that s**t with me, Julien. I can't believe you didn't tell me and now I found out."
I was walking away about to leave when Julien used his speed to block my path.
"Ari please hear me out. Not a lot of people have seen my face, and for you to have seen my face is a big deal. But if you were to know who I truly was would be a danger to you. Werewolves hate me and so do some vampires. I can't risk you getting hurt because of me. I still worry about you. And today I wanted to break the news to you."
"What news?
"I can't see you anymore Arianna. We have to distance ourselves from one another."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Why, Julien? Why?" I practically screamed.
"Some people have threatened me. Threatened to kill those I hold dear to my heart."
"Why me?"
"You're the only person I care for Arianna."
