"No! No, just leave you and your husband have already done more than enough damange to Ari! So, Im highly certain she wouldn't want you both around when she wakes up."
Mason, oh Goddess how good it feels to hear his booming voice.
"Well she my daughter and I will stay as I please, and I am your Luna and you will respect me! I never liked your snide and snarky ass in the first place, and as Goddess as my witness you will be replaced as soon to be beta."
Of course its her. She only want to be a mother when it counts, when people are watching. I wish she would just f**k off and stop berating my beta as if she actually has the control to dictate who I choose as my beta. Before I could chime in and defend Mason, he erutpted with laughter.
"I thought you would say that or shall I say we. This is actually going to make you laugh. You see Arianna and I already to precautions to get my future postion sealed so we had paper work drawn up, signed by herself and myself that states that she and only she can make the decison of who her beta is, and not only that but your husband as asbsent minded he is signed it as well. Oh, and other thing before you're escorted out of here, you daughter left me as the legal party in case something was to every happen to her, for example like right now, so I decide who can stay and who leaves. So gather up your s**t and have a nice day Luna Kimberly."
All you could hear was my mother screaming varies insults at Mason as she was forced out of the room by the guards, and she didn't go without causing a scene. You could hear her slaming and throwing things all over the hospital as she exited. Trying to bite the guards. Huh typical Kim, if you ask me.
"Damn, I never thought she'd leave.", I groaned.
Mason's heart rate picked up, and his breathing became shallow as he raced to my bed side.
"Woah, calm down now! You sound like you're about to hyperventilate."
His embrace was warm and invitinging, almost like I was being encased in a security blanket.
He kissed my head, and muffled the words, "I thought I had lost you forever."
His fresh oaky scent filled my nostrils, a scent I grew accustomed to.
"I know", I whispered. "I know"
Mason released me from the embrace but kept me at arms length.
"So have you been here the whole time with me?" I asked motioning to a pulled out cot as well as a suit-case full of Mason's things. He rubbed the back of his head, sheepishly, "You can sorta say that. I usually start my day with handling any erands I need to take care of, then after that I was here with you for the rest of the day. Checking in with the Pack Doctor's about any new progress with you."
Mason gripped my hand tightly as he spoke. I could tell he was having a hard time fighting his emotions. Giving his hand a squeeze I reassured him, "It's okay Mason, I'm here now."
He gave me a weak but hopefull smile. "I know we aren't the best of friends Ari, but I really am glad to have you back. Going two weeks without my alpha to rant to is really hard", Mason dramatically said with his hands thrown in the air.
I snickered at Mason's dramatics until it dawned on me, the seriousness of the situation. I was unconcious for two weeks.
"You mean to tell me I was unconcious for two f*****g weeks! My dream didn't seem like I was out for that long!"
"What dream" Mason piped in.
"I didn't mean a dream I meant memory", I murmured to myself.
"Dream, memory what difference does it make Ari? Just tell me what it was about, because the doctor didn't say anything about you being able to dream while being out. I mean there were time you would flail about suddenly, but the doctor's 'said' that they couldn't explain it."
"Look I don't feelcomfortable talking about it, at least not here" I retorted beckoned to the Pack Hospital.
"Then let's get the hell out of here!" Mason shouted as his sprung onto his feet, and to action. Packing up his things, and handing me my things that he had already packed for me.
"Get changed and I'll go get the doctor to bring you, your release papers to sign."
Nodding in compliance, I walked into the bathroom. Locking the door behind me. I looked in mirror for the first time and was not surprised at my apperance.
My hair was disheveled, and strung out all over the place. My eyes lacked their normal luster, and one had a yellow brownish tint around the socket, a bruse healing. My cheek was slightly swollen like my bottom lip, both were a cheery red around the laceration, but a deep black cherry red on the laceration itself. I looked like s**t, and even that was an understatement
It hurt brushing my teeth, let alone changing out of my hospital gown.
I put my hair into a simple ponytail, throwing on the over sized shirt, sliding on my shorts, and slipping on my shoes when I heard a commotion outside of the bathroom. I swung open the door to a red faced Mason and an apathetic doctor.
"What do you mean you won't let her leave." Mason lashed out.
"Sir I've already told you the only persons allowed to sign off on Miss Wolfe discharge papers is Alpha and Luna Wolfe."
"That's utter bullshit, you and I both know that" I shouted from the bathroom door-way.
I gave the doctor a threatening stare, "Between my parents and their little followers you all are starting to make me weary"
The doctor blatanly ignored my outburst, "You need to have more respect for the current Alpha and Luna, Arianna. And I'm sorry but Alpha orders...."
"Alpha oders my ass, everyone knows that 18 is the legal limit to be considered an adult, both Pack and Human Laws state it. So for you to blatanly lie to my face is unexcuseable and indisputablly the most stupid thing you could do. But I'll keep that in mind when another your job is up for review."
Dumb-struck the doctor responded, "You're being rash Miss Wolfe."
"And you're not honoring your job as a pack doctor. But it's fine I won't sign the discharge papers."
He breathed a sigh of relife, "Thank you..."
"Oh don't thank me yet, because I'm still leaving against hospital policy. Oh and tell my parents I said 'hello' when you have to tell them the news."
I left the doctor with a parting glance, as Mason escorted me out the room and to his truck.
