I am actually getting tired of calling myself an i***t. That's how much I have done that lately. Like a lot. But I think I deserve it. What the heck was I doing with my life?
"Jake get out of the closet right now." A male voice shouted me from outside the closet. Why did it sound so familiar? Hmm...
Last night I went again in Ry's room. Why did I always ended up in her room? Okay that sounded bad, but still... The more I knew her... The more I spent time with her... It wasn't a good thing. It was addicting and the worst thing I have ever done in my life.
It felt good... I felt good when I was with her... It was like I could forget everything when I was with her. Okay maybe not everything... But I felt... Okay? And that was driving me crazy. It wasn't right. It was stupid. For the love of God, I was the maniac meeting her in the middle of the night in her room. In stories like these, the guy usually ends up in prison. Or killed... By the father of the girl... Yeah... That could be an option. If you ask me it's not that bad.
"Get out right now!!!"
"No!!!" I shouted still thinking whose voice was that. Seriously it was so familiar.... And... It hit me.
"Jake if you..." And just like that I opened the closet's door which hit Jeremy straight in the face. He fell on the floor his hands touching his nose which was bleeding. "You fucke..." And... Just like that I jumped into him crushing him against the floor as he groaned at loud from the pain I was causing him. Meh! He can take it.
"Don't ever leave me again." I said hugging him like a little kid.
"You little fucker. You idiot." He pushed me away. Sitting up in the floor, he looked at the blood in his hands coming from his nose. Oops? His eyes raised up to me as a glare shot me right in the face like a b***h. And after that I knew how things would go.
Now it was Jeremy's time to jump over me as he punched me in my stomach. I let out a choking noise, surprisingly mixed with a little laughter. Jeremy was on top of me, his blood running down his nose in my white shirt and... Eww... Even in my face, when my so sweet brother came in.
"Oh no." Was all he said. Let's just say he didn't like Jeremy that much. Why? Long story... We used to prank him all the time and embarrass him in public and in social media... and make fun of him the whole time.
It wasn't as long as I thought...
"Oh yes." Me and Jeremy said in the same time grinning like two idiots as we both got up from the floor and chased after Aiden. The poor guy has been and through this so many times he would start running the second he saw us grinning like that. So yeah... He ran... Like a little girl screaming for her... Okay not going there right now... I didn't need the flashbacks. Not now.
Aiden ran to his room and locked himself up in there like the little coward he was. "Guys please. I have to go to school." He pleaded behind the door like a lost puppy.
"Well you have to open the door first." Jeremy said with an evil tone. That made me grin like a moron. What can I say? Making my little brother suffer was so much fun.
"I'm late. I don't have time for these guys."
"Nah." I said. That made Aiden punch the door hard, obviously angry at me.
"Jake you i***t. Why can't you be the depressed guy you always are? Now you found the moment to go all old Jake on me? Now that I'm late?"
The grin left my face, which was replaced by a frown. Old Jake? Seriously? Was I really being the old Jake? There was no way, I was the old Jake. He was dead. Right? Ehhh... I miss that jerk too... But I never thought of him coming back. He was dead.
"Open the door A-boy." Jeremy said in a high pitch voice.
"Leave!!!" He shouted.
Both, me and Jeremy, fell in silence. Knowing that he wouldn't come out, for at least five minutes, I went to the kitchen and took the cake from the fridge. I was going to make him a birthday surprise. After all... I was still his big brother. Going back in front of his room, right in time as Aiden was peaking his face out of the room... But lost the last step of the stair as I fell and the cake flew in the air... Falling in Aiden's peaking face. His hair... Oh no his precious hair... Was all covered in chocolate cream. Well...
It was the perfect time to laugh.
Jeremy read my thoughts as we both started to laugh at the same time. Aiden on the other hand was glaring at us from behind the cream in his face. It was so hard to take him seriously in those moments.
"Happy Birthday." I said between laughs to him as he had that I'm-gonna-kill-you covered in cream face. Reading my mind again, Jeremy took out his phone and took a photo of Aiden. The kid is growing up. It was like yesterday when I smashed his head into the cake in his sixh birthday... And poured soda in his pants in his tenth birthday... And painted his hair pink in his sixteenth birthday... Oh memories!
"You do this in purpose every year." He said with a low angry tone.
"I swear this time happened accidentally." I raised my hands in the air in a surrender manner. "I was going to do that anyway, but this time it happened itself."
"You are an asshole." He slammed the door, getting in his room to shower.
Jeremy grinned at me as I did the same as well. "I missed you bro." He said to me and this time I smiled.

Okay... What was I thinking?
Oh yeah.
"So you can throw me to the wolves
Tomorrow I will come back
Leader of the whole pack
Beat me black and blue
Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne" I screamed the lyrics along with Jeremy. His arm was over my shoulders , so was mine in his shoulders. In our hands were the empty bottles of beer.
A high pitch scream, came from the street. "They will jump." The woman screamed in a terrified tone.
I looked down and laughed at her. "Honey we will fly!!!" I shouted at her and laughed. Jeremy being the drunk him, laughed with me without knowing the reason.
One hour earlier
"Why aren't we in your brother's party?" Jeremy complained.
Ugh this guy!!!
I have known him since the first grade. For some reasons he hated me that time, but we became friends really fast. After that... We have been always there for each other... Well until the jerk moved to Los Angeles with his family five years ago. I didn't get to see him all these years.
Maybe it would have been different if he was here then...
"Because according to him we are too old for parties." I rolled my eyes at Aiden's words. "I bet my life he was scared that we would embarrass him in front of his friends."
It was 10 p.m. Two hours until midnight...
I want to meet her.... I need to see Ry. My Ry... Okay where did that came from?
"So how are you?" Jeremy asked, and from the look he was giving me, I knew what he was talking about. And going back to the Jake I have been for a couple of years now, I gave him a sad smile.
"Not thinking of suicide, that's for sure." He laughed coldly at my answer. "It is hard to deal with... It... With all of these. The drug helps me sometimes." I was looking him straight in his eyes as I said that, wanting to see his reaction. I was expecting him to see me with pity in his eyes, or to frown at me for the fact that I took drugs. But he smiled.
The jerk smiled.
"Do you remember the time we got those cookies from that drugged kid in our chemistry class?" He laughed at the memory.
In the beginning I frowned, but then I just couldn't keep the laugh anymore as the memory of what happened flashed in my mind. For God's sake, we almost set the fire to the class, and somehow ended up declaring our undying love to the fifty year old lunch lady as we promised her to save her from the dragon guarding the fridge.
After that, the video on YouTube of Jeremy making out with the statue of the school's mascot (which by the way was a dog) and mine trying to convince people I was Catwoman was all people talked about for more than a month in school.
"Why don't we do something like in the old times?" He asked with a low voice like he was taking about his evil plan to straddle the world. But the way he said it, make a few people in the restaurant around us to look in our way, like we came from Mars. That would be cool though.
"We are twenty not ninty Jem." I whispered to him and shook my head at him.
"So?" He wasn't going to give up, was he?
***
"I believe I can fly!!!"
I think it is obvious that he didn't give up.
"We are the kings of the world!!!" We shouted and laughed hysterically. This is stupid. I'm an i***t and I live with my demons. And here I find myself sitting in the edge of the roof of a flat with five floors... Drunk out off my mind, laughing like a moron with my best friend... Thinking about the girl I once I had a crush on.
Life pushed me in front of her. It actually slapped me in my face a few times, took a step back to take a full view of her work on me, kicked me in the balls to finish her work and then pushed me in front of her. More like kicked me in front of her.
I smiled as I thought about Ryder... Ry... My Ry...
"Get down both of you!!!" A police officer shouted from down to us. There were some men with huge cameras...
"Is that MTV?" I screamed like a little girl meeting Cinderella in Disneyland. "Dad hi!!!" The high pitch voice I used made my ears hurt. Wow! I may be the next Adele.
"Son get down. Both of you. You will fall." The officer said.
I looked down and smiled at the high.
Still with that maniac smile in my face I shouted. "I CAN'T FEAR DEATH, NO LONGER. I'VE DIED A THOUSAND TIMES."
