Rhoda's POV
“Get up, Lucian,” I said firmly watching him struggle to keep himself balanced.
My chest tightened at the pain in his eyes but I refused to let it waver my decision
“Rhoda, give me an answer” he pleaded
“Lucian please be considerate about your condition. Please stop doing this. You're hurting yourself” I pleaded too
“I won't leave this position till you give me an answer,” he insisted.
His breath came out in short puffs as he looked up at me with so much hope it nearly crushed my resolve
“Fine,” I said in defeat “but first, stop hurting yourself please,” I said softly
“Does this mean_”
“I'll give you another chance,” I cut in crossing my arm and exhaling in exhaustion.
A huge grin appeared on his face. “Are you serious?” He asked, his tone laced with excitement.
