“See you on the other side,” Lucian said, his voice void of hope.
A deafening gunshot echoed through the room, but it wasn't from Lucian's gun.
His hand jerked violently the weapon flying from his grasp and clattering to the marble floor.
My heart skipped a beat as I saw blood trickling down his fingers.
