Too Hard To Choose

Chapter Thirty-Eight- Road trip.

Violet

“Now, are you sure you have everything?” Parker asks as we pack our things into the car.

I laugh, “For the fourth time, yes.”

He chuckles, “Sorry. I want to make sure.”

It is seven in the morning. We were going to leave in the afternoon, but we decided to leave early, so we could enjoy the day when we arrived at the hotel. Tomorrow will be busy and long for the wedding.

“We have the important things, which is all that matters.” I smile.

“Stop somewhere to grab breakfast and coffee for the road?”

I nod, “What type of question is that to ask me? Do you think I would go without a coffee for so long?” I snicker.

“Good point. I would rather not have cranky, irritated Violet in the car with me.” He teases.

I slap his arm, “I am not addicted to it.”

He laughs loudly, closes the trunk and wraps his arm around my shoulder, “I am only messing with you, sweetness.”

He led me to the passenger’s side, opening the door for me to climb in. His eyes burn into my ass as I do.

“I would say thank you for being a gentleman, but gentlemen, don’t stare at a lady’s ass,” I smirk and sit down.

He raises his hands, “I was not doing such a thing. I am a gentleman.”

I playfully roll my eyes and shake my head. Parker sticks his tongue out at me before he closes the door. He runs around, climbing in the other side and getting us on our way.

I am excited about our weekend away. It would be a nice break for us both, and the fact we will have a hotel room all to ourselves is a bonus. He promised he would make up for lost time, and I believe him. I am eager for that. I have missed his touch on my skin and his lips all over me. I bite on my lip and squeeze my thighs together even at the thought.

Parker rests his hand on my knee, “Are you okay? You shuddered. Are you cold?”

“No, I am fine.” I smile.

He doesn’t need to know the real reason for it. I will let it build up and release it later when we are in the hotel room. The poor guy has no idea what he is in for. I don’t think he will have any complaints.

We don’t drive long before he pulls into a parking lot, “I will head inside. What do you want?” he asks.

“Hmm, a toasted, seeded bagel with cream cheese and salmon, please, alongside a large black coffee.” I smile.

He nods, unclips his belt, and reaches over to kiss me. “I won’t be long,” he says.

He heads inside. The place doesn’t look too busy. Hopefully, he shouldn’t have to wait too long. I mess around with my cell as I wait. Yes, I am excited about the wedding, but I am also nervous. I won’t know anyone except for Parker. He promised he wouldn’t leave me alone, and I believe him. He has never given me any reason not to believe his promises. From what he has told me about them, they seem nice. Hopefully, they will like me.

Parker returns ten minutes later. I reach over to open the door for him, and he hands everything to me, so he can climb in.

“Can we eat while we are stopped? It is much easier than doing it while I am driving.”

I nod, “Of course. I want you to enjoy your breakfast, too.”

He smiles and kisses me, and we each take our orders. I noticed he bought some pastries for us, too. He knows me too well. I love pastries.

“I made sure to get you a cinnamon bun.” He smiles.

“Oh, yum,” I say excitedly.

It is my favourite. Parker and I chatted as we ate and drank our coffee. It will keep us going for the next four hours until we arrive at the hotel.

“I thought today, after lunch, we could go swimming and have some drinks by the pool. And I have also booked us in at the restaurant for dinner at seven.” He suggests.

“Sounds perfect and a great way for us to relax,” I reply brightly.

Cocktails sound good. I will only have a couple. I don’t want to be hungover for the wedding. I don’t think I could deal with the entire thing if I were.

“I thought you would like the idea. Are you looking forward to tomorrow?”

“Mostly. I’m a little nervous, too, since I won’t know anyone. I will be fine once I am there.”

“Yes, you will be. I will be right there, angel. I am sure everyone will like you as much as I do.”

We finish up with our food and get back on the road. We put some music on, but only at a low volume so we can talk.

“What time can we check in? As soon as we arrive or?” I ask.

“By the time we arrive, it will be check-in time. There will be no hanging around. We will check in and go straight to our room to start our day,” he answers.

I wouldn’t mind if we needed to hang around. We could have gotten a drink at the bar while we waited. Parker places his free hand on my thigh.

“I am curious: when do I see my sexy surprise? Tonight? Tomorrow, tonight?” he asks, gently massaging it.

I moan softly. My thighs are one of my sensitive spots, and every single one of them knows it.

“Who said I didn’t change my mind and leave them at home?” I smirk.

I packed them.

Parker pouts, “Did you leave them?”

I snicker, “No. I brought them with me. I will show you one tonight and another tomorrow night.”

“Mmm, you brought enough for the two nights?” he groans.

“I sure did, handsome. I couldn’t choose, so I brought one for each night.”

He continues to massage my thigh, “I can’t wait to see you in them.”

“I am sure. Have you missed me?” I purr.

His fingertips dig into my thighs, “Yes, you know I have. Please, do not start teasing me, sweetness, because if you do, I will get excited and will pull in somewhere to f**k. Which could lead to us either causing an accident or being arrested.” He groans.

I laugh loudly, “Sorry. I promise to behave. I will leave all my teasing for later.”

Parker chuckles, “Thank you.”

I can’t wait for his reaction to the bikini I brought with me. It is an adult-only hotel, which means I can wear what I want without worrying about children seeing me. I bought a sexy red one, especially for this weekend, that he has no idea about. I plan on torturing him all weekend just because I can. Well, not all weekend. I will behave and stay classy for the wedding, but other than that, I don’t plan on being a good girl. Parker will love every single second of it, and we will make up for the lost time, that is certain.
