Chapter Thirteen

"What am I doing here?", I asked struggling with the drip that was attached to my arm. The nurse there came to help me sit up.
"Ma please you need to get some rest, you don't need stress yourself at this point", the nurse said tucking my pillow well for me to be comfortable.
"Please don't move, the doctor will be here soon", she said as I still struggled to get up but from the hospital bed. I got hit by a headache and I tried massage my head.
Before I could move further, the doctor came into the room. I am very thankful that it was a female doctor that came in, I am not too good with male doctors.
"Thank goodness that you woke up at the right time dear. How do you feel?", She said feeling my forehead with the back of her hands.
"I just have a slight headache", I replied.
"But....what happened to me doctor? I was at the founder's night and I woke up here, what is wrong with me? I have never felt like this before", I said confused, still trying to get off the bed.
"You had a little episode but I understand dear', She said smiling at me with her hand on my shoulder. Her smile was very broad, and I was beginning to wonder if I had just woken up from the dead.
The doctor quickly pulled the nurse to one corner of the room and whispered something to her. Shortly after the nurse left the room and I was left alone with the doctor.
The doctor walked slowly towards me, still smiling broadly. I don't still understand what is that is good about me waking up in the hospital and not my house or worse, the Kingston Mansion.
"Mrs Trisha, You have to take care of yourself from now on, because you don't want to hurt the little one that you are housing in there", she said as my eyes followed her hands as she pointed at my stomach.
I still looked puzzled and she saw it in my expression. "You are pregnant Mrs Trisha", she said smiling widely this time and I could see her whitened teeth.
My whole world just crumbled to this news. I felt like the world should just end or I should get lost forever and never be found. No, I misheard.
"Doctor what did you say?", I asked because I couldn't bring myself to this reality.
"You are pregnant. You are already one month gone", she said caressing my shoulder softly.
"How come? How is it possible? We were very careful during the whole process, and I haven't been intimate with him for a while.", I asked with my hands on my head. My headache was not even doing any good.
My mind played a whole screen of all my nights with Kaiden and I couldn't still find anything that would cause this. Besides, I don't go sleeping around so what went wrong this time?
Immediately, I remembered my first night with him. I face pounded myself. How can I forget my first night with him? How can I be so careless? My first night with him was unexpected, I didn't go with the intention of getting intimate with him. But how can I forget?
"Oh no!", I exclaimed, beating myself up on the bed.
"Calm down Trisha. You need to be more careful please, you are hurting the little one", the quickly doctor ran to hold me down.
"How can I get this out?", I said pointing at my stomach with tears clouding my eyes.
"You are already one month gone, you can't. Besides, if you want to take the baby out now, it will be very risky and costly", the doctor said still holding me down.
Now I will have to tell Kaiden about this so that he will do something about it. I know very well that he will want to take this out as much as I do. I will just have to inform him so that it doesn't get in the way of his 'marriage'.
I scoffed.
"I will get the money soon and pick a date for the abortion", I said looking around for my things do that I will not have to stay here. I don't want to waste time now.
"What are you doing? You need to rest a bit, you will be discharged in the evening", she said still trying to put me on the bed.
"Does anyone know about this?", I asked panting from the struggle.
" Not yet.."
"Don't tell anyone, I will tell them myself", I said cutting her off.
She got a hold of a syringe and injected a bit of anesthesia in me. I suddenly gave up and I blacked out again.
After a few hours, the lights were back on and my eyes were opened to Stacey staring closely at me.
"Trisha are you.... doctor, she is awake", she said and the doctor came in haste.
"Mrs Trisha, it is time to go", she said whispering closely with a smile on her face. I was still trying to get myself together because I didn't know what happened.
"Alright, it is time to go Trisha", Stacey said trying to lift me off the bed with the doctor helping her. Stacey helped me put my clothes on and we left the room.
"Thanks for paying the bills", I said giving her a big smile as we walked out of the hospital.
"I didn't pay the bills", she said smiling back at me.
"Then who did?"
"Kaiden did", she replied.
"He even signed the hospital documents as your husband", she said nudging me but I wasn't in the mood for all of that.
That means Kaiden knows about the pregnancy. What if he wants to keep the baby and I don't? What his mother doesn't accept the pregnancy? What would happen with Chantel?, All those thoughts ran through my mind as we went out of the hospital.
Oh my goodness! My life can't get any worse.
