Part. 1 Allie's Awakening
Mark was standing in front of the bedroom mirror, adjusting his tie, and getting ready for a bright morning in West Virginia. Wearing an elegant all-black, blue tuxedo, he left his magnificent Beverly Hills residence and entered another area of the mansion. A pregnant woman was lying on a bed inside, with monitoring equipment next to her and wires running throughout her body. Her personal physician and valued friend, Dr. Michael, took good care of her requirements. The room had a calm atmosphere in spite of the busy city, with plenty of natural light coming in through the glass windows and decorated in clean white. With practiced efficiency, Dr. Michael administered medication to the woman through her IV, ensuring her well-being with each calculated action. Mark's concern for her welfare was evident as he inquired about her condition and the health of the unborn child. "Is she doing well, Dr. Michael?" Mark's voice broke the silence, his eyes never leaving the pregnant woman's form. "She is progressing excellently, Mr. Obama," Dr. Michael replied with a reassuring smile. "And how is the baby?" Mark asked, his tone tinged with anticipation. "The baby is healthy and thriving," Dr. Michael assured him. Satisfied with the doctor's response, Mark observed the ultrasound of the baby, marveling at the images displayed before him. With a nod of satisfaction, he left the room, leaving Dr. Michael to complete his duties before departing discreetly to maintain the confidentiality of the situation. As Dr. Michael bid farewell and left the apartment, Mark remained behind, contemplating the events of the day and the implications they held for the future. With the nurse scheduled to arrive shortly, Mark settled into the comfort of the living room, reflecting on the delicate balance between secrecy and necessity in the circumstances at hand. With a silent acknowledgment of the importance of discretion, Mark watched as Dr. Michael departed, his thoughts consumed by the weight of the secrets they shared and the challenges that lay ahead. And as the day unfolded, Mark knew that the decisions made in the shadows would shape the course of their lives in ways they could scarcely imagine. The living room, filled with anticipation for the day ahead, saw Grace, the diligent housekeeper, enter to greet Mark. "Good morning, Mr. Obama. Your mom called earlier today and asked me to remind you of tonight's program," Grace informed him. "She said it's important you attend," she added, to which Mark responded with a thoughtful hum. "I'm heading out now. The nurse will arrive in an hour. Please give this key to her; she knows what to do. If anything urgent comes up, call or message me," Mark instructed, handing over the key to Grace, who acknowledged his directive. Exiting the apartment, Mark was greeted by his driver, Godwin, who promptly brought the car around. With Godwin at the wheel, they set off towards the estate gate. As they exited the compound, Mark's phone rang, revealing Thomas's caller ID. "Hello, Thomas, How are you doing?" Mark answered. "I'm good. How about you?" Thomas replied. "Good," Mark responded. "Mr. Obama, are you coming to work today, or will you work from home?" Thomas inquired. "I'll be coming in. What's going on?" Mark questioned. "Nothing much," Thomas replied. "That's how I know something's up. Spit it out; what's going on?" Mark pressed. "Well, your mom called me a couple of minutes ago, inviting me to your family house. She mentioned something about a surprise for you," Thomas revealed. "Did she say what the surprise was?" Mark asked. "No, but she emphasized that it's important I come over, as it's going to be a great day for you. Knowing you don't like surprises, I thought I'd give you a heads-up," Thomas explained. "Thank you, Thomas. I'll see you later," Mark said, ending the call with curiosity piqued. Arriving at the City Green Hotel, Mark's phone rang again, this time with his sister Blessing on the line. "Hi, brother, congratulations in advance. I hope you'll set aside work and join us for tonight's program," Blessing exclaimed. "I wouldn't miss my big brother's special day," she added enthusiastically. "Why do I sense tonight won't be the usual Thanksgiving and family gathering?" Mark pondered aloud as he entered the hotel. "I'm not telling, but you'll love it. I promise," Blessing teased before the call disconnected. Entering his office on the top floor, Mark contemplated the evening's festivities and the mystery surrounding the surprise awaiting him. Meanwhile, back at the apartment, the nurse arrived promptly, as scheduled, and Grace welcomed her in, verifying her identity before entrusting her with the key to Allie's room upstairs. Upon reaching the door, she inserted the key into the keyhole and turned it, unlocking the door. Pushing it open, she stepped inside and made her way to Allie's bedside. Glancing at the monitor readings, she suddenly felt a movement. Startled, she looked at Allie, whose eyes remained closed. Checking the time on her wristwatch, the nurse retrieved a container from the fridge and prepared a syringe. Approaching Allie's bed again, she administered the injection into Allie's IV. However, just as she was doing so, Allie's voice cut through the air. "Where am I?" Allie's weak voice sent a jolt through the nurse, who recoiled in surprise. Allie's awakening was unexpected, leaving the nurse baffled. "Who are you, and where am I?" Allie's voice, now fully awake, echoed in the room as she surveyed her surroundings. Attempting to calm Allie and encourage her to lie back down, the nurse found herself struggling against Allie's shock and confusion. Allie's gaze fixed on her swelling belly, prompting a cry of distress as she felt a slight movement within. "What's happening?" Allie's voice verged on a scream as she attempted to rise. Despite the nurse's efforts to soothe her, Allie's shock persisted. Confusion clouded her mind as she grappled with the unfamiliar environment and the unexpected state of her abdomen. Turning to the table, the nurse retrieved sedatives and swiftly returned to Allie's side. But before she could administer them, Allie began removing the wires from her hand, followed by the injection, resulting in a cry of pain. Meanwhile, at the Green City Hotel, Mark was in his office when his phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, he noted it was Dr. Michael. "Hello, Dr. Michael," Mark answered, surprise evident in his voice. "She's awake." Dr. Michael's urgent tone conveyed the gravity of the situation, eliciting a shocked response from Mark.
