A blessing or a curse?
Everyone hates a villain.
But nobody cares about the phases of pain and constant humiliation they had passed through.
Well, in this story, I Am A Villain.
CHAPTER ONE.
Lydia's POV
“Wake up! You spoilt brat!”
I growled, flipping my body through the sheet when an entire bucket of water crashed over my body.
I gasped, jerking up with speed. My entire clothes had been soaked, likewise my bed. I wiped off my face and saw her standing there.
Amelia, my stepmother, or rather, my father's wife. I resisted the urge to speak, and stood up from the bed.
“You lazy fool…” she spat. “Why are you still sleeping?” She asked, her eyes grew darker and full of deceit.
I didn't speak, I remained mute and angry. It was only 4 : 15 in the morning. Everyone in the pack house was still fast asleep.
“The Alpha is visiting us today and I want the entire mansion cleaned up before dawn, if you fail to do that, then you can forget about eating for the rest of the week.” She scoffed and walked away.
Words like this were the kindest I got from her.
My name is Lydia, illegitimate daughter of the Alpha and cursed with the cruel fate of being wolfless.
I forgot to add, today is my 20th birthday.
I had expected to be treated better today of all days, that was all I asked for but as usual, I was made to wake up before anyone else, clean the entire mansion, wash and cook for the pack members.
I was made a slave in my father's house and he couldn't care less about me.
He had only accepted that I came to stay at the pack after my mother passed out and from that day onwards, I became an object of mockery. I was seen as a mere product of a one night stand as my stepmother used to taunt me day and night.
A few hours later,
I was already done with my activity for the day and evening was gradually settling.
Everyone whispered in excitement and I couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation.
They say he was the prince of darkness, rumoured to eliminate and kill just anyone who stood on his path. He was none other than Alpha Damien, the man I had crushed for years.
Excitement embraced me like a long forgotten friend. I couldn't help but wonder what brings the mighty Alpha Damien to our pack.
Unlike us, he was the power that held the seven realms/ kingdoms together. Even though he hadn't been coronated yet but it was no news that after he picks his Luna, he would definitely inherit the position just like his father.
Funny how I knew almost everything about this man but had never behold him before in my life.
“What are you doing here?” I froze the moment I heard those words and I immediately knew who it was.
Here comes another round of insults and humiliation.
“I was just about…” I hadn't finished when she cut me off abruptly.
She is Liana, my step sister. She didn't exactly treat me different from the rest but she bullied me nonstop in school and ignored my existence at the pack.
“Oh please, shut up! haven't you been warned about eavesdropping? you lowly wolfless fool.” She scuffed.
Her words pierced through my heart but I said no words. I just tried to leave but she held me back and pushed me against a wall, pinning me down as I begged for mercy.
“How dare you try to walk out on me?” She asked, her eyes hungry for blood and just then, someone came to separate us.
If they hadn't, I would have been crushed to death as my strength was nothing compared to that of an Alpha female.
“You should be grateful today is my engagement to Alpha Damien, when we are finally married, I'll serve your head to vultures.” She smirked and left the room.
I felt a pang settle in my chest. Not because of her attack but the fact she was getting engaged to Alpha Damien. The man I had loved my whole life. I had prayed silently to be his fated mate but who am I kidding?
No Alpha would be willing to take a wolfless Luna to rule a pack.
~
The ceremony kicked off almost immediately, everywhere buzzing with people that came from near and far places. Laughter filled the space and people ate and drank while I was made to stay back at the kitchen with the omegas, they taunt and bullied me. Calling me unfortunate and making me serve food to the entire mass.
On my last distribution, I was already exhausted and lightheaded that was when the arrival of the Alpha had been mentioned. Everyone stood and bowed while the Alpha and his Beta marched towards their table.
Just then, someone from behind pushed me, I struggled to regain my balance but it was already too late, the entire contents of the tray crashed on the floor, very close to the Alpha's Beta, Alex..
Beta Alex turned in a swift, extending his hand to help me up and that was when I perceived it.. the sweet unmistakable scent of almond. It filled my nose, drawing me close to him like it had been ordained by the moon goddess herself. My body vibrated in ways that I had never experienced and I felt the presence of another being possess me.
“Mate..” The voice within me growled.
I'm still in shock when he pulled me up, a smile plastered all over his face as he took my hand.
“You're my mate.” His voice sent shivers down my spine. Everyone watched in amusement and confusion. There was silence for what felt like forever and even though I tried to act calm, my mind was a marketplace!
Just then, the
Alpha cleared his throat, his eyes fixed on me as though I was some kind of bait.
I'm still lost when Alpha Damien extends
his hand, “Lydia, will you make me the happiest Alpha and be my Luna?”
