Alison wasn't the one to make impulsive decisions. Rather she was someone who would freak out if something wouldn't go accordingly to how she would have pictured it to be. She was a woman with well-weighed choices.
But
in our lives, don't we all take some decisions on wimp without pondering over
it too much? When our heart literally screams at us to just do it without any
second thoughts. Besides, it is impossible to plan out everything ahead of time
anyway. Isn't it?
And
even if one does, there is no guarantee that it will happen as you planned it
out to be. Even if you had planned out 50 years ahead of your life. So, this
time, she was ready to be reckless.
Ready
to be impulsive.
That
was the very reason as to why currently she was standing in front of a mirror
of her bedroom with her best friend Jessica who was busy in pulling out clothes
from Alison’s wardrobe. Well, more like throwing all her dresses on the floor.
The floor was literally littered with all kinds of dresses Alison ever possessed.
Some
of them were even foreign to her as she had bought them long time ago only to
stuff them in her closet. Without a doubt Jessica wasn’t a neat freak if the
mess she had made of Alison’s dear room was any indication. While Alison felt
like she will pass out at the mere sight of her room if she wouldn't stop her
friend now. The horror might come true.
“Come
on Jess, just choose any dress.” Alison retorted with a huff. She was
getting annoyed at Jessica as her best friend still hadn’t managed to find ‘THE
DRESS’ for the blind date. A blind date she didn’t even know why she agreed to
in the first place. Well kind of she does, it’s a revenge. A revenge to show
that she wasn’t going to mop over a boy who was nothing more than a-hole.
“What
do you mean ANY DRESS. Ali it’s a blind date. You just can’t go there looking
like a bum. Nope, never, I don’t approve of it. NOT ON MY WATCH WOMAN!” Alison
gave up because she knew that once Jessica had decided on something she wasn’t
going to back down. And right now she was set on making her best friend look like
a Greek Goddess. But to be honest Alison didn’t take any interest in that.
She just wanted to go on that so called blind date as a slap on Ethan even. Yes, Alison was going to post and brag about her blind date on each and every SNS platform that she was on. She was going to make sure the news of her date reaches his ears and maybe even burn him. She smirked grimly at her thought, it was as if she could picture his face contort in annoyance and maybe frustration too. And nothing could be more delighting to her at the moment. She just wanted to get back at that cheater of an Ex. Alison wasn’t the one to hold grudges in fact she could easily pass to be the most forgiving person.
But all of us have our times when we are just too hurt that a sorry won’t fix it and no amount of ‘I am okay’ will be convincing. And it was her breaking point. He pulled the last straw and now Alison was going to making him pay for it. After all Ethan should face the consequences of playing with her heart. And she wasn’t going to make it easy for him. This blind date was just the first step of her quest.
Jessica was still busy in going through Alison’s closet so with no other choice Alison sat on her bed with a thud with her legs still dangling in the air, touching the floor every once in a while. Having nothing better to do Alison decided to check her phone. Most of the notifications were spams or simply unimportant texts. Alison didn’t know what she was expecting when she unlocked her phone. But her grip around her mobile tightened at the realisation- there was not even a single text from Ethan let alone a missed call.
Which made her wonder if he really didn’t care about her. Unconsciously she was just too hopeful for her own good. Of course, Ethan didn’t care about explain, about her. For God’s sake that bastard cheated on her but she didn’t seem to get the wakeup call. It wasn’t like she was too dumb to get the point across her head or something. But she hoped that at least the guy would have decency to give some kind of believable excuse, maybe try to explain himself. She hoped he would come running. But indeed the joke was on her. Too much expectations were prone to be broken, it was inevitable.
Maybe
she was in the wrong to expect so much from a person who ditched her and put
their years of relationship at stake for a random girl.
Who even knew how long he had been going behind her back!
“That
shameless ugly dipshit. His ego was always bigger than a mountain. I don’t even
know why did I ever see in him to be so whipped for him. His teeth are crocked,
he sweats like a damn waterfall and stinks like a pig. I was blind. I must be,
for not being able to see it all earlier.” Alison mumbled to herself.
“Ali…
Ali… Ali…” Jessica shouted at the top her lungs nearly damaging Alison’s
eardrums.
“Jess
don’t scream on my ears please. I have no intention of using a hearing aid so
soon.” Alison retorted while covering her ears as her best friend continued yelling
in excitement while jumping around in the room.
“FINALLY. FINALLY FOUND IT… THIS IS THE PERFECT DRESS THAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. YOU ARE GOING TO WEAR IT AND I WON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.” Jessica declared in one breath while shoving the dress to Alison and pushing her to the bathroom to try it on.
“Let me at least first see the dress.” Alison complained as Jessica didn’t even gave a second to check the dress out.
“It’s too short Jess. I am not sure- “ Jess heard Alison say from the washroom. And she didn’t need to see it for herself to know that her best friend was agitated. Jessica could hear Alison huff and groan.
“Just wear the damn dress, Ali. It’s perfect for a wild night.” Jessica grinned to herself but suddenly heard the sound of something slamming against the washroom door the moment those words left her mouth. Jessica decided it was time for her to shut up. So, she zipped up her mouth and patiently waited for her best friend to come out with the dress on. While Alison just prayed for the blind date to go well as slowly and with no choice, she lazily slipped the so called ‘perfect dress’ according to her best friend. She was so going to kill Jessica if it would turn out to be a disaster.
