CHAPTER 16
Cassie’s first day had not been great. She had found the day horribly long and boring. It was not a busy time in the property market, the times being bad in general and particularly quiet with the holiday season that had passed. She had spent the day in the office with Iris, trying to figure out where everything was kept and how things worked. She had also come across her first nasty client, an elderly lady who had placed an offer on a house before Christmas and still not heard back. There had been no explaining to her that the office had been closed over Christmas and the vendor had been abroad and out of reach most of that time.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it. I don’t know how dad did it. I don’t have a clue about anything.”
