“Get Up”. His growl is low and dangerous. I’m sprawled out on my stomach. My ears are ringing and my head feels as though is it in a vice. The dull sound of the crowd brings me back to my senses. Suddenly more alert my eyes dart around to find him. Lucky shot I think to myself. Extremely lucky. But mostly for me. I slowly begin to push myself off the canvas shifting my body around so I can keep him in sight. Bastard. I knew it would come to this. This was bound to happen. The bitter taste of blood circulates my mouth before I spit it out. That mother fucker can hit. Once standing upright I take a breath trying to refocus on my task. “Princess”. I glare towards the crowd as I hear my guards fighting and making their way through. “Princess stop". A sea of soldiers descend upon the arena and he is wrestled to the ground and held in place. Growling fiercely at the armed guards he continues to struggle. "Weak, your are weak Gabriel, you do not deserve your title I will gladly rip it away from you". Believe it or not, he wasn't always like this towards me. He once was my best friend. To this day I still don't know what happened, I just know that one day he started to look at me different. Act and feel different. It was like his soul was darkening at the dawn of every new day. He was my protector my everything. Things got so bad between us that my parents had me guarded 24 hours a day 7 days a week. That ridiculous protection where you couldn't do anything on a whim and everything had to go through five stages of approval before it was actioned. Essentially causing any of my requests to be worthless once I received the okay. My only real freedom was during high school. It's the first day back tomorrow and I'm covered in bruises and am overall in a s**t mood. I feel my protectors fall in line beside me. My best friends or as they are more commonly known the Terror Twins Casey and Candice. Smart, quick and dangerous, espeically on a basketball court. They are almost 6 foot tall with wavy blonde hair and light green eyes. Candice the more playful of the two nudges my shoulder and gives me a small smile. "Looks like you got your ass handed to you G". Typical Candice, knows how to break the tension. I turn and nod to her "sure did, that mother fucker can hit". At this point I can no longer see Grey and just assume that the soliders have taken him away. It's about time, I am tired of hiding away, hopefully my parents will pull back on the security now that he is no longer a threat. I turn to gather my gear and leave the arena when Casey pulls on my shoulder. "G, the Alpha and Luna want to see you now. Follow me" I nod walk out into the cool silent night. A stark contrast to the arena I had just come from. Her black Tesla was parked right outside the back exit, the three of us filed inside and Casey drove us back towards the secluded pack house.
