EMILIA'S POV
I shook my head, trying to process what Elijah was telling me. "But I'm not a werewolf," I said, feeling a sense of confusion. "How can we be mates if I'm not like you?"
Elijah's expression softened, and he reached out to take my hand. "I know it's confusing, Emilia. And to be honest, it's not something that's ever happened before. But the bond between us is real, and I can feel it."
I looked at him, searching for answers. "But how is this possible? I'm human, Elijah. I don't have any...werewolf instincts or whatever it is you have."
Elijah smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It doesn't matter what you are, Emilia. You're mine, and I'll cherish you no matter what. We'll figure this out together."
I felt a surge of emotion at his words, but I was still confused. "But what does it mean? How can we be mates if we're so different?"
Elijah's grip on my hand tightened. "We'll make it work, Emilia. I promise. And I'll be here to support you every step of the way." His eyes locked onto mine, full of conviction. "I love you, Emilia. Not just as my mate, but as the person you are."
