ELIJAH'S POV
As I drove Emilia home, I could feel my wolf, Kaelos, stirring inside me. He was restless, eager to break free and take control. But I wasn't going to let that happen. Not now, I don't want to scare her off.
I gritted my teeth, focusing on keeping Kaelos at bay. He was a powerful force, but I was determined to keep him under control.
As I glanced over at Emilia, Kaelos growled, sensing my attraction to her. He wanted to claim her, to make her ours. But I knew that couldn't happen. Not yet, maybe not ever.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm Kaelos down. "Not now Kaelos , what the hell is wrong with you," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
But Kaelos was relentless. He snarled and snapped, trying to break free. I could feel his power coursing through me, tempting me to give in.
I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, my knuckles white with tension. I wasn't going to let Kaelos win. I was in control here.
Emilia chatted beside me, oblivious to the battle raging inside me. I smiled and nodded, pretending to listen, all the while fighting to keep Kaelos at bay.
As we pulled up to her apartment, I felt a sense of relief. I had made it through the drive without losing control.
I turned to Emilia, my eyes locked on hers. "I've really enjoyed getting to know you," I said, my voice low and husky.
She smiled, her eyes sparkling. "I've enjoyed it too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
I leaned in, my face inches from hers. "I'll call you soon," I whispered, looking at her lips wishing I could capture them with mine but I pulled back.
As I pulled back, Kaelos snarled, unsatisfied. But I knew I had won this battle. For now, I was in control. And Emilia had no idea what had just happened.
