THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 17
Sonia stormed into her mother's house, her face a picture of anger and frustration. She didn't even bother to greet her mother, Mrs. Shasha, as she made her way straight to her room.
Mrs. Shasha, who had been sitting in the living room, looked up in surprise. "Sonia, is that you? Why didn't you greet me?" she called out.
But Sonia didn't respond. She just slammed her bedroom door shut behind her.
Mrs. Shasha's curiosity was piqued. She got up from her seat and made her way to Sonia's room. She knocked gently on the door before entering.
"Sonia, what's wrong? You look like you're about to explode," Mrs. Shasha said, concern etched on her face.
Sonia was pacing back and forth in her room, her eyes blazing with anger. "It's this girl called Liza at my work, mom. She's always getting in the way. I think Tylor likes her," Sonia spat out, her voice venomous.
Mrs. Shasha's expression changed from concern to surprise. "Tylor? Who's that?" she asked.
Sonia rolled her eyes. "You don't remember him, mom? He's the heir to Williams Fashion Home. We went to university together."
Mrs. Shasha's face lit up with recognition. "Oh, I remember him now. He's that handsome young man who always came to drop you off at home."
Sonia nodded, her anger simmering just below the surface. "Yes, that's him. And now he's always giving attention to this girl at work. He's asked us to work on a project together, and I just know she's going to mess it up."
Mrs. Shasha's expression turned sympathetic. "That's terrible, dear. But I trust you, you're talented and capable. You'll do great on this project."
Sonia sighed, feeling a sense of frustration. "It's not just that, mom. I like Tylor. I want him to myself. But he only sees me as a friend."
Mrs. Shasha's eyes sparkled with determination. "Don't worry, my baby. You can get Tylor's attention. If he's not noticing you, then seduce him. Show him what you're made of. And don't forget, if you can snag Tylor, we'll be set for life. We'll be part of the wealthy Williams family."
Sonia's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really, mom? You think I can do it?"
Mrs. Shasha nodded, a reassuring smile on her face. "I know you can, my baby. Just go out there and show Tylor what you're capable of. I'll support you all the way."
Sonia smiled, feeling a sense of resolve. She was going to get Tylor's attention, no matter what it took.
