THREAD OF FATE CHAPTER 28 Mrs. Williams stood outside the company, waiting for her secretary, Nicolas, to arrive. As she checked her watch for what felt like the hundredth time, Nicolas finally pulled up in the car. He got out and opened the door for Mrs. Williams, who slid into the passenger seat with ease. Nicolas got back behind the wheel and drove off, unaware that they were being followed. Scott, the man Sonia had hired, was hot on their heels. He had been instructed to follow Mrs. Williams and Nicolas and capture any incriminating evidence. Scott's eyes were fixed on the car ahead as he tailed them, his mind racing with possibilities. As they drove through the city, Scott wondered where they were headed. He had been following them for over 20 minutes, and they seemed to be taking a rather circuitous route. Finally, they pulled up to a large, nondescript building on the outskirts of town. Nicolas parked the car, and Mrs. Williams got out, followed closely by her secretary. Scott's eyes widened as he watched Nicolas give Mrs. Williams a kiss on the cheek. He quickly snapped a photo with his camera, capturing the intimate moment. Mrs. Williams and Nicolas then walked hand in hand into the building, leaving Scott to wonder what they were up to. Scott waited patiently in his van, watching the building for any sign of activity. After a few hours, Mrs. Williams and Nicolas emerged, looking rather pleased with themselves. Scott snapped a few more photos, capturing their affectionate gestures. He couldn't help but think that Sonia was going to love these pictures. As Scott watched, Mrs. Williams and Nicolas got back into their car and drove off. Scott followed them, careful not to be seen. He eventually lost them in traffic, but he had already gotten what he needed. He pulled over to the side of the road and began to sort through the photos he had taken. Scott couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he looked at the photos. He had been in this business long enough to know that the wealthy and powerful were often hiding secrets. And it seemed that Mrs. Williams was no exception. He sent the photos to Sonia, wondering how she would make use of them. Meanwhile, Sonia was sitting at her desk, feeling restless and tense. She had been waiting for what felt like an eternity to hear back from Scott. She checked her phone for what felt like the hundredth time, wondering if she had missed a call or text. Just as she was starting to lose hope, her phone beeped. She quickly opened it and saw the photos Scott had sent. Sonia's face lit up with a triumphant smile as she looked at the photos. She had known that Mrs. Williams and Nicolas were having an affair, and now she had the proof. She quickly composed herself, not wanting to draw attention to herself. But she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She had finally gotten what she needed to take down Mrs. Williams. As Sonia sat at her desk, trying to calm herself down, Mrs. Williams and Nicolas walked by. Sonia watched them, a sly smile spreading across her face. She knew that she had the upper hand now, and she was eager to use it. Sonia quickly got up from her desk and followed Mrs. Williams and Nicolas into her office. She knocked on the door, and Mrs. Williams bid her enter. Sonia walked in, a confident smile on her face. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Williams," she said, trying to sound as innocent as possible. Mrs. Williams looked up from her desk, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Good afternoon, Sonia. What can I do for you?" Sonia took a deep breath, knowing that this was it. This was her chance to take down Mrs. Williams and get what she wanted. "I need to talk to you about something," Sonia said, trying to sound as serious as possible. Mrs. Williams raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What is it, Sonia?" Sonia took another deep breath, knowing that she had to be careful. She couldn't afford to make any mistakes now. "I have something to confess," Sonia said, trying to sound as remorseful as possible. "I stole Liza's designs. I know it was wrong, but I just couldn't help myself." Mrs. Williams' expression didn't change, but Sonia could sense a hint of surprise behind her eyes. "Go on," Mrs. Williams said, her voice neutral. Sonia took another deep breath, knowing that she had to keep going. "I know that Tylor and Liza are getting close, and I just couldn't handle it. I've had feelings for Tylor for a long time, but he doesn't feel the same way. I just snapped, and I stole Liza's designs." Mrs. Williams' expression was unreadable, but Sonia could sense a hint of curiosity behind her eyes. "What do you want from me, Sonia?" Mrs. Williams asked, her voice neutral. Mrs. Williams raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "How do you expect me to help you, Sonia?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism. Sonia smiled, trying to sound as sincere as possible. "Mrs. Williams, I need your help. I want you to talk to the chairman and ask him to drop the investigation into the stolen designs." Mrs. Williams raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. "I'm afraid that's not possible, Sonia. The chairman is determined to get to the bottom of this, and I don't think he'll be easily swayed." Sonia's smile never wavered, but her eyes narrowed slightly. She knew she had to play her trump card. "I understand, Mrs. Williams," Sonia said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "But I think you'll change your mind when you see this." Sonia pulled out her phone and brought up the photos Scott had taken. Mrs. Williams' eyes widened in shock as she realized what she was looking at. The photos showed her and Nicolas in a compromising position, and Mrs. Williams knew that if they got out, her reputation would be ruined. "Where did you get these?" Mrs. Williams demanded, her voice trembling with rage. Sonia smiled, knowing she had the upper hand. "That's not important, Mrs. Williams," Sonia said, trying to sound as confident as possible. "What's important is that I have these photos, and I'm willing to use them unless you help me." Mrs. Williams' face turned white with anger, but Sonia could see the fear lurking behind her eyes. "What do you want me to do?" Mrs. Williams asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Sonia smiled, knowing she had won. "I want you to make sure the chairman drops the investigation into the stolen designs," Sonia said, trying to sound as confident as possible. "I want to be able to continue working at Williams Fashion Home without any consequences." Mrs. Williams nodded, knowing she had no choice. "I'll take care of it," Mrs. Williams said, her voice laced with resentment. Sonia smiled, knowing she had gotten what she wanted. "Thank you, Mrs. Williams," Sonia said, trying to sound as sincere as possible. "I appreciate your help." As Sonia left Mrs. Williams' office, she couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph. She had gotten what she wanted, and she had done it by any means necessary. Mrs. Williams and Nicolas were lost in thought, trying to process what had just happened. Mrs. Williams turned to Nicolas, her voice low and urgent. "That girl Sonia is more cunning than I thought. I need to stop my husband from pursuing this issue of stolen designs. That girl must not show our pictures to people." Nicolas nodded in agreement. "I told you, she's very manipulative. We need to be more careful now, especially with our relationship." Mrs. Williams sighed, feeling a sense of unease. She knew she had to protect herself and Nicolas.
