Chapter 6 - Oh goddess

“What do you mean I shouldn’t have marked her? You told me to find her and talk to her and that the only way to kill the chances of Lesley having the pregnancy be successful?” Zane question as fury rolled off him in waves.

“I did say that but, I didn’t say mark her! We don’t know what will happen and if she continues to grow and have this baby, you will have to reject Alice and make Lesley your luna by choice.” Alpha Mark boomed back at his son. The anger in the room now covering us like a blanket.

“I don’t want her! I want Alice. Always have always will! And if I reject her, she won’t get her powers and be the Luna the prophecy for tells! We will be going against the moons will!”

“ Son you have to calm down and actually think about this. You need to man up. You did it and although a she-wolf having a pup from someone who isn’t their mate is rare. It always ends in miscarriage or still birth. This is why I said to wait. And make sure.”

“But for that to happen, we’d have to fully mate. For it to always end in miscarriage do to mates, shouldn’t her and I have to?”

“ If I may speak on the matter?”

“Not right now Alice.” Zane waved off.

“Well then I’m leaving and heading to school if there is no reason for me to be here. I don’t want to hear and shouldn’t have to hear, about another she-wolf having something that should be mine with someone who IS mine. Sorry alpha Mark, but I need to go.” Fury rolling off me.

I got up quickly, grabbed my bag and ran to my car as fast as I could. I wasn’t giving Zane the chance to catch up to me. The mate bond tugging on me but not as bad for me as him beings I don’t have my wolf yet. I finally got to the school.

As I pulled into the parking lot tears began to fall. Why did I do this to myself. Knowing about Lesley I still said yes. And now my jealousy was eating at me. What am I to do? If I’m this jealous now, when I get my wolf it’ll be 10 times worse.

Screaming and hitting my steering wheel with my palms “ If this bitches pregnancy works out I’ll be a marked, rejected mate!”

I have hit my breaking point. I decided to skip school and go to Chloe’s, the local coffee shop. I couldn’t face anyone, not today. I ordered myself a latte and sat in a corner booth and put my head phones on. I pulled out my iPad and emailed all my teachers asking to send all my work digitally. This way I can get it done while I sit here alone. If I have a coffee and order food in a little bit while I’m working they won’t say anything. I do it all the time. I’ve become close with the owners. They’ve even offered me a job. Which I have thought about taking that offer sometimes as a way to pass the time. Now with possibly being the future luna, I’m not sure how that would work out.

I glanced over to the time on the screen and jumped up. I have dinner soon! I packed up all my stuff and waved bye to Al and Kelly and walked out the door. Walking to my car, putting my things in the back seat and jumping into the drivers side and heading home.

I decided that I’m going to sit in my kitchen on the beta floor to eat to avoid alpha Mark and Zane. I hoped onto the elevator and went straight to my floor and avoided the dining halls. I went to my room to put my books down on my desk. I then pulled out my phone with a sigh as I sent a text to my parents letting them know that I was home and eating alone. They’ve been getting worried about me and I know this wouldn’t help the situation any.

And she left it at that. Nothing else was said but, I know she gave my dad a knowing look that something was up. She always knew. It’s how moms are.

“Starting to think you are avoiding me too.” Rj said making me jump as my phone went flying.

“You scared the sh*t out of me R! What are you doing up here?”

“Sorry bud! I was looking for you. But what the hell is going on with you and Zane anymore. We can’t even get a decent training session in with you two.”

“He is my mate r!” I whined. “He impregnated Lesley, alpha Mark thinks I’m the chosen Luna we have all read about. He said just by the one conversation we had, but he had us come to his office to talk about it but because Zane marked me, they argued.”

He stared at me wide eyed before he finally shook his head and questioned “Well how do you feel about being future luna and the situation at hand?”

“I feel confused. I’ve been training for beta for so long. I still want to train with you guys but now with all the other event and senior year I have to train alone. I have a pack to lead soon and I need to be ready. If this is my destiny and I’m mated to an alpha, I have to be ready for any situation. But they both ignored me this morning so I left mid meeting.”

“I know why alpha Mark, thinks you are the chosen Luna. You aren’t just the chosen Luna, you’re the chosen wolf! You’re eyes glow when mentioning your future pack and your duties as Luna!” He excitedly explained. “I didn’t know you had your wolf! What’s her name?”

“My eyes glow?” I yell as my eyes were about to pop out of my head. “I don’t have my wolf RJ... I haven’t shifted at all yet. But Zane said him marking me may bring me into some of my powers and once we mark each other fully on the skin and wolf side I will fully come into my powers if I am the chosen wolf. And no one else can know because we don’t know who is out there looking into how true this prophecy is. Which now knowing my eyes glow, it’s pretty true.”

“Alice this is big sh*t! As my future Luna and best friend, I will protect you with my life!”

“Thanks R, I love you bud.” As I hug RJ a growl rips through the air making me and Rj jump apart.

“What the fu*k Zane? I’ve always hugged Alice.”

“That was before she was my mate RJ. My wolf is of first born alpha blood and we are very protective of our mates. I tried to fight it but, he really doesn’t like it.” Zane quickly replied before pulling me into a hug and breathing in my scent to calm his wolf.

“I’m sorry about how the meeting went princess. He angered my wolf and it just got worse. Learning to control when he comes out is going to be challenging but, I have a feeling that no matter when any male comes near you, he’ll make himself known.” He tried to reply sweetly.

We all sat and talked for a while. Avoiding him with half a mate bond was going to be harder than I thought. The pull was only going to get stronger. We decided to call it a night after 2 hours of talking about only goddess knows what. Zane walked me to my door as RJ walked passed sating goodnight. Zane kissed me sweetly, not wanting to let me go. We had to. We had to make Lesley think I found my mate that wasn’t Zane to keep the drama at bay until after our birthday in.... OH MY GODDESS IT’S ME AND ZANES BIRTHDAY IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS! How could I forget this major day! I turn 18 in less than 48 hours with my mate! I am so excited to finally have a girl best friend that won’t stab me in the back and isn’t human! And she’s mated to my mates wolf so she isn’t going to try to take my mate because we are 1 in the same, same as my mate and his wolf!

School went okay if you count me being pissed almost the whole day. Lesley was all over Zane. He paid no mind to her but, I wanted to just punch her in her face so bad! She’s lucky she might be pregnant. We couldn’t sit together at lunch so guess who got to sit next to Zane? If you guessed Lesley, you’re right. I sat next to RJ on the other side. She’s lucky I can’t bring attention to being his mate yet. Zane stole glances through out lunch with sad eyes.

Zane hated what I wore. “It shows too much skin” as he puts it. I always wore clothes like this. A tank top and leggings. I can’t wait to see his reaction when it get’s a little warmer out and I wear shorts! HAHAHA! Laughing at my own thoughts

I’m sitting on my bed texting Zane about our birthday tomorrow! I wonder if I stay up past midnight if I’ll be able to talk to her and meet her. I’m gonna try it! I did my homework and got a shower. I picked a 34 sleeved maxi dress and gladiator sandals as the weather would be slightly warmer out. Hopefully Zane wont freak out about the clothes I picked tomorrow. It was cute but, I need to live my life to. Mate bond or not. I don’t want to change myself. I’m not making him stop walking around shirtless during and after training. My wolf may though. Ugh this mate thing is confusing without my wolf.

I painted my toes and nails green to match Zane’s eyes. A slight hint I would hope no one noticed and I was bored trying to pass the time.

I told him that I loved him too and a few other things. Haha. I had 2 hours of time to pass. I straightened my hair and put out the make up I wanted to wear tomorrow. I also went to the kitchen and packed a lunch so I I could avoid the cafeteria tomorrow and sit in the library tomorrow and study for my 2 tests I have this week. And avoid Lesley so I don’t have to fight the urge to make her swallow her own teeth.

I felt a strange itching in the back of my mind. It was giving me a slight head ache. I looked at the clock. It’s 11:45.. I was 15 minutes away but this head ache was killer now. I think it’s my wolf starting to break the surface. I decided to lay down and wait the 15 minutes in bed as this head ache was turning into a migraine. Thinking back on the past few days helped my migraine slightly. Zane is my mate... I’m supposed to be future Luna... A powerful Luna with powers...

“Yes little one, very powerful indeed, now go to sleep.” An unknown voice spoke in my head... My wolf!
