Josiah  I walked back down the hallway feeling numb and cold. I stopped back at the ice and water dispenser and finished filling Avalon’s plastic cup. I didn’t really want to go back to her bedside. I didn’t want to have to look her in the eye, knowing that there was absolutely nothing we could do to save her. I passed Wilson leaving her cubicle with a perturbed look on his face.
