Renee  I felt strangely reluctant to leave Avalon alone in the hospital. By evening time, Dr. Ramirez had her so heavily sedated, she didn’t even know we were there. Besides, Wilson seemed to be getting restless. We made our way down to the first floor, which was quiet and empty now that normal visiting hours had ended. The sun was setting as we made our way across the parking lot to Wilson’s silver sedan. I paused with my hand on the door.
