THE MYSTERY CLASSROOM
CHAPTER ONE: THE STRANGE DOOR
Amara had always been a curious girl.
She loved exploring places that other students were too afraid to visit. At Greenwood Academy, there were many stories about an old classroom at the end of the second-floor hallway.
The classroom was called Room 13.
According to the students, Room 13 had been locked for many years. Nobody knew exactly why. Some said a teacher had disappeared there, while others believed that strange things happened inside.
Amara never believed those stories.
One Monday morning, while walking to her classroom with her best friend Tobi, Amara noticed something unusual.
The door to Room 13 was open.
She stopped walking.
“Tobi,” she whispered. “Look.”
Tobi turned around and immediately frowned.
“Don't go near it.”
“Why?” Amara asked.
“You know the stories about that room.”
Amara smiled. “They're just stories.”
She slowly walked toward the door.
“Amara, wait!”
But she was already standing inside.
The classroom was dark and dusty. Old desks were scattered everywhere, and cobwebs covered the corners of the ceiling.
Amara took another step.
Suddenly, she noticed something on the blackboard.
There was writing on it.
She moved closer.
Her smile disappeared.
Written in fresh white chalk were the words:
AMARA, YOU CAME BACK.
Amara stared at the board.
“What does that mean?” Tobi asked nervously.
“I don't know.”
Just then, they heard a strange sound.
Tap...
Tap...
Tap...
The sound was coming from an old wooden cupboard at the back of the classroom.
Tobi grabbed Amara's hand.
“Let's go.”
But Amara couldn't move.
The cupboard door slowly opened.
A small, dusty notebook fell onto the floor.
Amara bent down and picked it up.
There was a name written on the front.
Her name.
AMARA ADEYEMI.
Her eyes widened.
“How can this be?”
Tobi stared at the notebook.
“Maybe someone is playing a prank.”
Amara opened it.
The first page was completely blank.
Then, suddenly, words appeared on the page.
WELCOME BACK, AMARA.
Amara dropped the notebook.
Before either of them could say anything, the classroom door slammed shut.
BANG!
They both screamed.
The lights began to flicker.
Then the writing on the blackboard changed.
Slowly, another sentence appeared.
THE CLASS HAS STARTED Greenwood Academy had been hiding for years.
And somehow...
Amara was already a part of it.
