“Clearly, I made love to a man who is more fertile than you.” Zara said.

Those words hit Alexander like a knife in his heart.

Five years ago, Zara Rosendale walked away from her husband, Alexander Blackwood—the ruthless billionaire who shattered her heart. Betrayed, humiliated, and framed by the very family she tried to love, she disappeared without a word… carrying a secret no one knew—his twins.

Before disappearing she had met with a family doctor who had told her about the pregnancy and the fact that someone didn’t want her to conceive due to the drugs, they've been giving her illegal pills.

Now, she’s back.

No longer the naive young wife, Zara has become a powerful CEO—cold, confident, and determined to expose the lies that destroyed her marriage. Her target? The Blackwoods. Her weapon? The truth she’s kept hidden for years.

But when Alexander crosses her path again, the fire between them reignites, burning hotter than ever. He wants answers. He wants her back. And when he discovers the existence of the twins, revenge is the last thing on his mind.

Yet the past doesn’t forgive easily. Between a jealous mistress, a scheming stepmother, and the dangerous game of power and redemption, Zara must decide:

Will she protect her children and her heart… or give love a second chance with the man who once broke her?

The Secret They Tried to Bury
Zara paced back and forth in her living room. She had just rocked the twins to bed, reading them their favorite bedtime stories and singing them their lullabies. In front of her sat pictures, proofs, and evidence that her ex-husband's new wife was indeed a gold digger and criminal. She also had pictures of every member of the Blackwood family on her desk. **** For the past five years, after leaving Alexander's house, she couldn't wrap her head around things. Especially when she noticed that she was pregnant. Yes, that nauseating feeling she had when he had sent her packing was the sign. After she left the house, she had gone straight to the hospital. She didn't want to go to the family doctor she and Alexander had been using, just so he wouldn't inform him. Instead, she went to the Rosendale's family doctor. "Welcome, Mrs. Zara Blackwood," the doctor greeted warmly. "It's now Ms. Zara," she corrected sharply. "I don't understand why—" "Please, doctor, I really don't want to talk about this," she interrupted, her voice firm. "Uhm, it's always an honor to have you, the only child of the Rosendale family, here." "I need to do a checkup. I felt nauseous earlier. I need to know if I am sick," Zara said, getting straight to the point. "I must say it's been a long—" "Can you hear me, Doctor Angel?" Her tone was impatient. "Clearly, ma'am, I can hear you," he replied abruptly, sensing her urgency. "The test, please," she said calmly, though her hands trembled slightly. The doctor led her to the lab where the test was carried out. Few minutes later, back at his office, he handed over the result to her. Zara's eyes widened in astonishment. "This can't be possible," she muttered, staring at the paper in disbelief. Smiling, the doctor replied, "Well, you can see it for yourself." "No, this can't be. I can't be pregnant. After my last miscarriage, the doctor told me..." Her voice trailed off, confusion clouding her features. "What doctor? What miscarriage?" Doctor Angel leaned forward, his expression growing serious. "I always lose my baby in the first month of pregnancy," she said quietly, her voice breaking. "How?" "When I go for tests, a few days after, I start—" "Bleeding?" he finished for her. She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. Doctor Angel moved closer, his voice gentle but firm. "I checked your vitals. You are more than able to have your babies. There shouldn't be any complications." "No, no, no, doctor, you don't understand," she said, tears streaming down her face. "I can't be pregnant. The doctor..." "That doctor has to be fake," Doctor Angel said bluntly. She laughed, but it wasn't a sign of happiness—it was a sign of incomprehension. "You need to run this test again," she demanded desperately. They did. The result came out the same way, up until the third time. They both sat in silence for a while until Zara broke it. "Then why did I keep losing my baby? The doctor even told me there was no way I could get pregnant, but he gave me a pill that I should take anytime I want to have sex... he said it could help." She said, frantically searching her Hermes bag. "He called them fertility pills." Doctor Angel collected the pills, inspecting them thoroughly, then heaved a deep sigh. "This is not a fertility pill, Ms. Zara. In fact, this pill shouldn't even be in existence. Which doctor prescribed this to you?" His voice was grave. "No, no, come on, you can't be serious," she laughed hysterically. "Check them well. They are fertility pills. That's what he—" "I have been doing this job for the past twenty years, ma'am. You know I have served your family for a long time. Do you think I would lie to you?" His eyes held hers steadily. Zara couldn't feel her hands anymore. She was in shock. She began to hyperventilate. "So... what... does this mean?" she stuttered, her breath coming in short gasps. Angel rested his back against his seat, his palms interlocked, and took in a deep breath. "Someone doesn't want you to have your own kids," he said carefully. Zara laughed hysterically. "Oh, doctor, come on, you must be kidding me, right?" The look on Doctor Angel's face was firm and unwavering. "Oh my gosh, you are serious!" The realization hit her like a physical blow. Doctor Angel leaned forward. "Where is your husband? He needs to know about this. That doctor needs to be arrested. He's been giving you pills that would suppress your ability to conceive." "Then what about those times I was pregnant?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Did he give you any other thing?" Doctor Angel asked urgently. Zara thought for a while, then suddenly remembered that the doctor had given her a pill after the test was positive, and then a few days later, she lost the baby. She opened her phone, went straight to the gallery, and showed Doctor Angel a photo. Doctor Angel's expression changed drastically after looking at the photos. "What the f**k? You need to give me the address of this quack. He has to be locked up," he said angrily. "How the hell did you guys come in contact with such a quack?" "He's the family doctor for the Blackwoods," Zara said quietly, bowing down her head. She didn't know what to think anymore. Too many thoughts were going through her head. 'Could Alexander know about this? Could this be a family coup against her? Or was there someone else involved?' No matter how she thought about it, she couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation. "Then the whole family needs to be sued," Doctor Angel said angrily. "I am calling your father right away." "No, don't do that!" Zara said sharply. "But you—" "Don't do that," she repeated, her voice leaving no room for argument. Doctor Angel dropped the phone. "What do you intend to do?" Zara was silent for a while, her hands resting on her belly protectively. They both sat in silence for more than twenty minutes. "Make sure this stays between us," she finally said, her voice steady and determined. Doctor Angel was going to protest, but seeing the look in Zara's eyes, he knew that she had already come up with a plan. He had watched her grow. She was a very intelligent and beautiful young woman. He was there when she made the decision never to ask for help from her dad after a great tragedy hit the Rosendale home. "Doctor Angel, I need you to promise me you won't say a word about this to my father. I don't want him or anyone knowing about my pregnancy," she said firmly. "You can't hide it forever," he warned gently. "I am not hiding it forever, just long enough till my goals are accomplished," she replied with quiet resolve. "How do you intend to deal with the doctor and the Blackwood family for this?" Doctor Angel asked, concerned. A wry smile appeared at the corner of her lips. "Leave that to me."
