Chapter Fourteen Deborah’s death left me drained. After the stress of the past twenty-four hours, only to have everything end so abruptly, I wanted to sleep for a year. But I wasn’t ready to head back to Shady Grove yet. I’d had two purposes for coming to the city, and the second had been delayed long enough. After all this time, when Sam parked in the lot behind Joey’s Storage, I couldn’t quite believe we’d made it. I’d found the key to Kevin’s secret storage unit hidden in the depths of a box full of cords in our basement weeks ago. After months of scouring our house for anything that belonged to Katrina, any object where I might finally get a reading, I’d been ecstatic to find the key.
