“Can we use this letter?” Ivy perched on a stool at the kitchen counter next to Imani, who was reading Jeremy’s last note to Paisley. Despite her anguish, Ivy tried to focus. Having Bennett beside her helped.
“This is most unusual.” Imani removed her bright pink sun hat and shook her sisterlocks around her shoulders.
“The letter?” Shelly asked, taking juice from the refrigerator.
“The entire story,” Imani said. “Dexter is trying to bully his way into this property. He’s angry with Paisley for showing it to Jeremy, who bought it out from under him. So now he’s stooping to intimidation and using Paisley with promises of insta-millions and marriage. Those are her weaknesses.”
