Seated at the antique table in the parlor and surrounded by those who’d stood by her, Ivy held her pen aloft, then pressed the tip to the check’s signature line. This was the moment she’d worked so hard to achieve, through countless challenges that had pushed her to become more than she’d ever dreamed she could be. It was worthy of commemoration with those she loved.
