Chapter 28 After going to bed early the night before, Ivy rose with the sun. She pushed back the drapes in her room and glanced from the window into the car court below, where a marine layer misted the property. Peering closer, she sucked in a breath. Bennett was lifting his bags into the back of his SUV. Their conversation from the night before flooded back to her. Her phone buzzed with a text, and she saw that it was from Poppy, who was up early this morning to put out breakfast for guests. Bennett checked out. A string of sad face emojis followed.
