Into The Wild

Leah ran. She didn’t know where she was going, only that she needed to get away—from the pack that had discarded the her, from the wolves who had sneered at her pain, from the mate who had thrown her away like she was nothing. Her bare feet pounded against the cold forest floor, twigs snapping beneath her as she pushed forward. The night air was sharp, cutting through her thin clothing, but she barely felt it. Her chest burned, her legs ached, but she refused to stop. She had no home now. No pack. No one to turn to. Her wolf whimpered inside her, still reeling from the severed bond. The rejection had drained her, leaving her feeling hollow, like a piece of her had been carved out and tossed away. But she couldn’t let the pain stop her. She had to survive. The scent of pine and damp earth filled her lungs as she moved deeper into the woods. The farther she went, the darker it became, the towering trees blocking out the moonlight. Shadows stretched in every direction, whispering threats of what lurked beyond. She had always been weak. Helpless. An Omega that no one wanted. Out here, alone, she was nothing more than prey. The thought made her push harder. But exhaustion clawed at her. Her limbs trembled, her vision blurred. How long had she been running? Hours? A full day? It didn’t matter. Her body was shutting down. Her foot caught on a root, and she crashed to the ground, the impact rattling through her bones. A sharp pain shot up her ankle, and she bit back a cry. No. No, no, no. She couldn’t afford to be weak. With shaky hands, she tried to push herself up, but a low, menacing growl froze her in place. The air shifted. The atmosphere thickened, pulsing with raw dominance. She wasn’t alone. Slowly, Leah turned her head, her breath catching in her throat. A massive figure emerged from the shadows, his presence swallowing the space around him. His dark, predatory eyes locked onto her, gleaming with something unreadable. She knew instantly who he was. Alpha Logan Hayes. The most ruthless Alpha to ever exist. The one whose name sent shivers down the spines of even the strongest warriors. And he was staring at her like she was his.
