The Scorpish g**g

Chapter 7

It’s Sunday morning. Everyone is having a longer sleep than the usual days. Except the Scorpish g**g. They want to hangout like all other days. Especially when so many things are going on around, they do not want to waste the day sitting home lazily. Peter, as decided, is having his breakfast at Erik's.

Peter says, "Do you have this afternoon free?"

Erik says, "Not really. I need to attend a program."

Peter says, "Why? It's Sunday man!"

Erik says, "I have a test on Monday and I go to some coaching classes. The teacher missed two days due to diarrhea. So he must complete the class and I must attend. I'll get free after these freaking tests."

Peter says, "Okay that's fine."

Erik says, "You wanna visit granny?"

Peter says, "Yeah I was thinking if I could go there again."

Erik says, "Why don't you call your uncle?"

Peter says, "I'll think about that later. I've done eating. I should get back to my home."

Erik says, "What are you doing this morning?"

Peter says, "Gonna roam around the neighborhood!"

Erik says, "With your friends?"

Peter says, "Yup!"

Erik says, "Okay, bye."

Peter does not return home. He directly goes to the oak tree, beside block D. The oak tree is covering a small open area, a size of almost an average size room of a house. The Scorpish g**g built some wood made benches there to sit. Not that good in carpentry, but still those are capable to hold sitting people.

The space cannot be seen from the road. It only seems that there are a bunch of bushes, a huge tree and garbage. The other three sides are covered by a wall of a factory, a hard wooden fence beside the road and a residence building. As it is noticed by a little people, no one sits there. The g**g have not got much opportunity to sit there as they don’t get much free time.

Everyone goes to family trip on vacations. On weekends, they prefer to hangout rather than sitting and chilling here. Today after a long time Peter climbs the tree. After dripping off he gets into that place. Bushes have grown much, creepers are trying to crush the benches. Food packets have been gathered at the side of the house, the 'dwellers are not descent enough' Peter thought. He clears a bench and lies down on it. He puts his backpack under his head to add more comfort. Then he starts to see the photos of last day. He gets lost in deep thoughts about the things are going wrong. It is still hitching inside his head.

"Who's there?" suddenly a shout comes from the roadside. It is quite unusual that people are checking what is going inside here. Peter does not see any signs of people coming here. He stands up and suddenly Ross jumps in. Now Peter understands why the shout was familiar.

Ross says, "So you’re hiding here! I thought some creepy people was sniffing around."

Peter says, "I just came to check how these benches are doing. They are still fit haha."

Ross says, "This place was almost out of my mind. I saw that there are your footmarks beside on a fern and i saw that red jacket from that corner. So i came to check and bingo!"

Peter says, "You're early. We should stand outside or they won't find us."

Ross says, "Don't worry. There's a little gap beside this tree, right here. We'll be able to whenever they come here. Let's sit. I've missed this place for so long!"

Ross sits on a bench and makes a sound of satisfaction. Then he lies down, looking at the sky his mind also starts to wander around. Somewhere that forest comes in his mind like Peter wad thinking a while ago.

Ross says, "Those pictures are horrible, aren’t they?" he said this pointing at Peter's camera.

Peter says, "They tell a tale of being broken, being destroyed."

Ross says, "Looks like our other mates are here, look there." he sneaks through the hole. It's Elliott and Jonas. They are talking for a while as unconscious Ross forgets to have an eye on the hole.

Peter, holding a branch takes his head out and calls them, "C'mon in jerks!"

Elliott and Jonas are pretty surprised to hear from him at such an unexpected place. But soon smiles fill up their lips and they come here. Elliott easily jumps in, over the tree. But Jonas, being a obese kind of boy, cannot get in there. He tries a couple of times but failed.

Then Ross comes forward and says, "Your savior Ross is here. Step aside my friend." Then he simple removes a small iron piece from the fence and opens it up. Just like a door, but it just opens on the upper side. It left everyone speechless.

Ross welcomes Jonas by a dramatic way and bows down to everyone. Like he just showed a show on the stage. Others clap like impressed audience. Jonas gets into the place and has a look around.

Jonas says, "How did ya' do that man!"

Ross says, "Just magic! I'm Dynamo!!!"

Peter says, “Shut up now, i***t. We have had enough.”

Elliott says, “I’ve come here after a long long time. These benches aren’t broken?!”

Elliott and Jonas both test the seats by sitting like the other too. All of them are feeling a little bit nostalgic after coming here after a lot of days.

Jonas says, “So are we gonna sit here all day long or we’re gonna wander around somewhere?”

Ross says, “Why? Do ya’ need to decrease some fat?”

Jonas says, “Shut the s**t up! I’m just asking.”

Peter says, “Let’s go to the forest again.”

Elliott says, “Should we?”

Peter says, “At least something new is going there. Let’s go and see how well they are working.”

Elliott says, “What do you say Jonas?”

Jonas says, “Well it will be fun. Watching them over.”

Elliott says, “Okay, let it be then.”

After an agreement they decide to go there again. In their hearts they want a miracle so they stop their destruction and peace returns there.

Peter says, “Oh, I almost forgot! Erik won’t be able to take me to the hospital today. Will you guys be free?”

Elliott says, “I’m free.”

Ross says, “I won’t be able to go. You know why.”

Peter says, “Jonas?”

Jonas says, “Depends on the time. When you’ll go and return?”

Peter says, “You will have to give just one hour today. From 4 to 5 pm.”

Jonas says, “Then I’m in. I have to go out for dinner with my family later.”

Peter says, “I’m expecting you guys before 3.50 in my house then.”

Elliott says, “Ok, done!”

They keep moving with the same narrow road. Watching here and there, joking, teasing each other they are going forward. Peter is clicking photos whenever he is getting a good shot. They have reached the forest. It is looking balder now. More space is open.

At one side there is smoke, going to touch the sky. They follow the smoke and discover a big fire. They are burning the leaves, extra branches down. Many people are working there. They are bringing branches and leaves from all places and throwing on the fire. Everyone is liking the warmth of fire in this winter.

So the boys also stop to feel the warmth a bit. Today the working people are looking like daily laborers. They do not see any suited men or well-equipped men today. This is maybe because all the main logs have been taken already. Now they are trying to wrap it up and clean the place. Suddenly a familiar face is seen from a distance. He is a brown skinned boy with black hair, medium height and looks like same of their age. Everyone gets big shock. It is Paul Ericson!

They are very surprised to see him working. Then they look around and notice that there are more than 10 children working around them. There are not only adults but also these children! It leaves them spellbound.

Peter quickly gets some shots. He is clicking from various places. He tells others to keep an eye on that boy. The boy is almost 100 meters away from them. He has not seen them yet because he is not looking anywhere else. He is giving his full attention on the work.

Suddenly he looks back at Peter. His face turns pale instantly. Peter is surprised too. He looks at his mates and again looks back at the boy. Surprisingly the boy is not there anymore. In a moment he gets vanished. Peter calls the boys to come with him. They go to the spot where he was working. The sticks of his hands are lying on the ground. But there is no sign of him. He just got lost in the air.

Ross says, “What just happened?”

Peter says, “We lost our guy!”

Ross says, “How did he get lost so fast!”

Peter says, “You know better. Mr. Dynamo.”

Ross says, “That doesn’t make any sense at all!”

Elliott says, “Ok, enough bullshit has been so far. Now let’s talk business. Peter, have you got any shots of him?”

Peter says, “Obviously. I got pretty clean shots there.”

Jonas says, “Bravo! But unfortunately we’ve lost him!”

Peter says, “No problem. We’ll get him here tomorrow for sure. We’re coming here tomorrow again.”

Elliott says, “Isn’t tomorrow the discharging date of your grandmother?”

Peter says, “Oh, s**t! I literally forgot about it.”

Ross says, “What to do now?”

Elliott says, “Let’s get back to our Oak Office and talk about the whole thing. We’ll have our heads calm there.”

The Scorpish g**g made the benches two years ago, with the construction woods left at Peter’s. They used to call it their “Oak office”. They are moving there again.

On the way Ross says, “Hey let’s buy some chips or something. I’m hungry.”

Jonas says, “And the cholesterol is mine only!”

Peter says, “Ok I got it. I’m hungry too. Let’s get some.”

Then they buy 2 packs of chips from a*****e near their Oak Office. They start discussing about what to do next.

Ross says, “Hey Peter. Go to the hospital alone tomorrow. We’ll manage other things at the forest ourselves.”

Elliott says, “Not a bad idea.”

Peter says, “You sure?”

Jonas says, “Don’t doubt it. You can go to the hospital tension free. We’ll manage everything.”

Peter says, “Okay, guys. I’m counting on you then.”

Elliott says, “Bring on the chips, Ross. Are you planning to finish it alone?”

Ross says, “Do I look like Jonas to you?”

Jonas says, “Wait, What? I haven’t even started. Don’t bring my name everywhere i***t. You see these muscles? If I put on hand on your shoulder you won’t be able to stand. Mind it.”

After hearing all these from a nice and cool guy like Jonas, Ross takes it seriously. He starts to mind his own business now. He passes a packet to Elliott. Elliott is sharing with Jonas and he is sharing with Peter. After finishing these Peter asked, “If you had to do those works what Paul was doing daily, how would you feel Ross?”

Ross says, “That’s a horrible life. Here we are living like a heaven.”

Peter says, “Exactly.”

They talk about this topic for a while. Then Peter gives them some advice about what to do and what not do tomorrow. They are very serious that like they have a huge task tomorrow. Still they are thinking this as their little teen age adventure. But soon they are going to realize this is not anything small at all. They all are involving themselves into huge trouble without knowing it.

They spend 1 more hour there and then return to their respective homes. In the afternoon everything goes according to plan. Elliott and Jonas reach at Peter’s on time. They go to nearest bus station and reach at the hospital. Peter spends a very good one hour there. His parents will be in the town on Monday morning. Then his uncle will come at their house and elaborate him everything. All of them will come together to discharge his grandmother. A busy and important day awaits. For both The Scorpish g**g and Peter’s family.
