Chapter 3Less than a minute after Ian rang the doorbell, Claudia Ruvalcaba, who worked as the housekeeper for the McIntosh family, answered the door. “Good afternoon, Mr. Hughes, it’s nice to see you.”
“Good afternoon, Claudia. Are Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh home?” Ian asked.
“Mr. McIntosh left for work a little bit ago. Mrs. McIntosh is not awake yet. She was at some fundraiser or something last night and I guess she stayed out late. Do you want to come in and wait for her, or if you prefer, I can give her a message?”
“Um, could we come in? I have something important to tell her, and it really can’t wait. I hate to ask, but could you go and wake her up?” Ian asked reluctantly.
