Chapter 5The ride back to the hotel was quiet. Ian chose to sit in the back seat, and both Danny and Jess knew he just needed some time to think and process things. The only time anyone really spoke was when Danny asked, “Would you like to stop and get anything to eat?”
Ian was lost in his thoughts. It took him a minute to realize Danny was speaking to him. “I’m not really hungry, but if you want to stop and get something, please do,” Ian said politely.
“What about you, Jess? Are you hungry?” Danny asked.
“I’ve got dinner plans with a friend, but it sounds like you’re hungry though, so you should stop and get something.”
