I walked into the office the next day to some very surprised faces. I could hear the women whispering about me, and one comment I overheard really ticked me off.
“She has to be sleeping with one of the Cases to still be here.”
What is it with gossiping women and their tendency to assume that others are having s*x? Maybe I’m just very good at my job, and that’s why I’m still here.
Okay, granted, I did tell off Mr. Case, and I did it publicly. The truth is, I should be fired. But it just frosts my cookies that women always assume the worst about another woman.
