Kelly “Ok, don’t be nervous. This is just a formality.” I told myself as I waited to be seen for my second interview. I already had one interview with Mr Case, now I just needed to have an interview with Evan, his son who I knew was taking over as CEO of Case Enterprises. I have known the Cases forever. I used to be friends with Austin back in high school, but after we graduated we sort of lost touch. Plus I also married his best friend, Xavier, I don’t think Austin really accepted that. Unfortunately I didn’t get my happily ever after with Xavier. He was a marine and he was killed in action about six months ago. I have had the hardest time handling things. My dad is friends with Mr Case, who is trying to help me get some sense of normal life again. I need to get my life together now that Xavier is gone. “Sorry, it’s taking a bit longer than expected for Mr Case to see you. Can I get you anything?” An older woman asked me, who was sitting behind a desk. “I’m good, thank you.” I told her as I glanced down at my lap. I’m not sure about this secretary job. I know Evan will need someone who is going to be at the top of their game. I’m scared that won’t be me. If I want to be normal again, I need to get a job. I am grateful that Mr Case offered me this opportunity to be considered for his son’s secretary. The door to the office behind the secretary opened and out walked this woman in a very short skirt and a top so low cut that her breasts were practically spilling out of it. I looked down at what I was wearing, I just put on a nice blouse and dress pants. I wanted to be presentable. I know it’s been a long time since I interviewed, so I wasn’t aware that smutty was proper interview clothes. “Ms Simmons, they are ready for you.” The secretary said to me. I nodded my head and got out of my seat, grabbing my purse. I walked into the office and it wasn’t Evan sitting behind that desk, it was Austin Case. Why is Austin here? Evan was supposed to take over as CEO? What is going on here. “Ah, Kelly, thank you for coming back in. As I explained in the interview with me, I am transitioning into retirement and my son will be taking over as CEO. This position is for his secretary. I am very impressed with your resume, but in the end you need to be able to connect with my son since you will be his right hand man with the company. So that is why you are here today to interview with him for the position.” Mr Case explained. I nodded my head at Mr Case and said, “Yes sir. I understand. Thank you.” “Great, so have a seat, this is my son Austin and he will be taking over for me as CEO.” I must be dreaming. Austin as CEO? What happened to Evan? I really have missed out on a lot these last few years it seems. “It’s nice to meet you Austin.” I said to him. I have to keep this professional. I can’t blow this interview just because I used to be friends with Austin. I can’t believe this is Austin. This was the guy I had a huge crush on in high school, though he never realised that I did. Nope, I was just one of his friends, Along with Xavier. —— Austin Is that Kelly? I looked down at the resume that my father put in front of me before she came into the room. I didn’t bother to look at it before only because I figured I would look at it as I interviewed the girl. My god, the last time I saw Kelly was in high school with Xavier. Wow, Xavier, I haven’t thought about him in awhile. He was my best friend in high school. I looked up from the resume to see Kelly. My god she is beautiful. She always was good looking but wow I can’t believe how stunning she looks now. The way she is talking, she is acting like she doesn’t remember me. We were so close too when we were in high school. I could not help but drift back to that one day when Xavier decided he would ask her out.
