"I already packed some junkies for our trip—and please don't tell Nix about it. He will surely confiscate it." Hilary was pouting while doing a meditation sit over my bed. She's been here since morning and hovering like a bee because of excitement.
I rolled my eyes at her. "You know how lethal is his nose. He can even smell us one mile away from god knows where. Your junkies will surely a small thing for him." I uttered as a matter of fact.
There is no use on hiding from Nix. He will find out eventually because of his lethal senses. I find it so weird where his little sister—Hilary, does not bear the same thing. She has sharp senses but not as sharp as Nix.
"I will hide it in my bag." Sounding like her bag will hide the smell of the junkies.
"And do you think hiding it in your bag will help you? Just bring normal food, not junkies or else your brother will kill us both." I was packing some extra clothes just in case I need to change. But I know we will go home by afternoon. This is just for emergency purposes.
"In that case, I need to buy from the convenience store and because you are so against it, you will come with me to the convenience store." Stood up and glaring at me, like it is my fault that she has to go to convenience store.
"Hey, don't blame me! Blame your freaking brother. He's too—I don't know how to explain it, but he's definitely a freak." I snarled and thrown her the same look.
"I know he's a freak, but he will surely gonna kill me if I will blame him!" Her face already looks like a crumpled paper and she's even stomping her foot because of annoyance. "Why do I have to be a sister with that kind of brother?!" She complained like she's the most unluckiest girl on earth.
"I ask the same thing everyday. I don't have a brother but he also acts like one! Like jeez, he's too uptight." I complained as well. We are dwelling the same problem. But my mom find it funny. I don't have any sibling, but Nix acts like one and he's very strict.
"We are doomed. I just hope he will graduate soon so we can be free from him."
"This is his last year, so our hard work will be paid off. We will be free from him at last—but that's 8 months from now." I uttered.
Hilary snickered as she walk closer to me. "I heard that Nix will move out to the main city after his graduation."
"The main city? Oh, he's working there?" I asked innocently.
She nodded. "Mom would not tell what will be his job, but he already has after he graduate."
"Wow that's nice. I hope I will get a job too after we graduate." I am hopeful because that's the only thing I can paid off for my parents.
"You will surely get it. But damn, let's go now. We need to buy some snacks to eat while we are in the train." Hilary remembered what we are supposed to do earlier and just grab me running outside the house, heading the convenience store.
I almost tripped on my own feet because of her speedy walking. But a few minutes later, we are already walking normally, like a normal being. No dragging.
"You really did drag me like I am a rag doll." I complained and she just grinned at me.
"Because you keep stalling me with our little talk, you are being too obvious." She accused me.
I eyed him incredulously. "Are you accusing me?"
"I am not accusing you. It's a fact. I know you don't want to go out because of what happened, but if you will continue doing that, you will look like you are acknowledging them!" She answered back but still walking towards the convenience store.
I huffed. "I just want peace. I am fed up too and have a limited patience with all those people sticking their nose."
"I know but let them show that it's nothing to you. I know your situation is difficult, but everything happens for reason. Maybe it happened because there is a bigger reason—important reason."
"You're reading too much stories Hilary. Let's just buy the snacks." I answered because she's starting to imagine things again that I could not relate. What reason can be more bigger than a she-wolf who can't transform?
"Alright, glad you're into it."
"More like forced to it."
"Aw, you're too stingy!"
I just rolled my eyes. I don't know why we became friends when sometimes I can't stand her but even though she's like that, I still love her.
Few minutes passed and we finally reached the store and there are few customers who's buying their stuff and some are lining up at the counter. I saw the cashier and I know her. Her name is Vicky my 10th grade classmate and a part time worker here in the convenience store since it's holiday and we don't have class.
"Hello Vicky!" We both wave to Vicky and she waved back to us.
"Buying something?" She asked while smiling widely.
"Yes, for tomorrow's trip." Hilary answered.
"Wow, you're coming to the Elite Hunting?"
"Yes, and I can't miss it and I am dragging this unwilling lady along with me." And Hilary throw me a glance.
I rolled my eyes and did not said anything.
"I'm sure you'll enjoy it Seraphine. I went last year and it's amazing." Vicky stated and made a dreamy eyes. "That Alpha is so handsome."
"Yeah, it sure does." I know it's amazing and everyone knows the Alpha is sinfully gorgeous. It's just that, there are a lot of things happening in my life right now and I think it's not appropriate to go and have fun—but I know Hilary is right. I should not sulk and dwell with it—that's why I agreed coming to this hunting.
"We'll just get our stuff, Vicky." Hilary stated and we went to the racks and getting some snacks like bread and onigiri. As much as we love to get Lays or Cheetos Nix will surely throw it away, just a waste of money.
"Is this enough?" Hilary asked while checking the food in the basket.
"I think it's enough. I'm sure Nix won't bother to eat." I answered like I know what will happen. I’ve known Nix like the back of my palm so I can easily tell that he won’t even take a single bite, even we will offer one.
Hilary's eye brightened. "You're right! He's very picky when it comes with food. I'm sure he will bring his own. So let's go to the counter."
We strutted towards the counter and we lined up. It did not take that long because Vicky is also a fast paced cashier and she's really doing great with her job. We chatted a little at the counter like we use to do at school but we did not hang around longer because we gathered irritated looks from the customers who's lining up behind us.
We went to our home immediately to prepare for tomorrow's trip. I don’t know if this is the right decision, by going to this trip. But something in my gut is telling me to come this time. I just hope, this will turn out fine.

"I already have our tickets. I'll just need to go to the counter to have it stamped." Hilary immediately run towards the counter to stamp the tickets.
There is a long line at the counter since a lot of people are traveling the same destination. Everyone is looking forward on witnessing the Elite Hunting.
"That girl is bringing too much baggage." Nix complained. He's carrying Hilary's baggage or to be exact, the bag of food. I wonder if we can even finish all these food. I thought we will just bring enough for our trip, but I guess she did a last minute shopping to add some food.
"Well, she won't be Hilary if she's not like that." I answered as a matter of fact. It’s just that, Hilary munches food all the time.
"Later when we arrive, two of you , don't loiter around. The main city is dangerous for pups." Nix was stating like a mother dog—educating his pups.
"I am not a pup Nix." I almost rolled my eyes. How can he say that? I am already eighteen years old for crying out loud!
"And I am not either! Stop sounding like dad Nix. You'll get old faster than your age." Hilary snickered when she reached us waving our stamped tickets.
I only brought a purse with me and clothes inside. I am wearing a tattered washed out jeans and a white v-neck shirt tucked in. My chuck taylor shoes is a shade of gray and I just let my long black hair down.
"And stop acting like a brat Hilary." Nix bit back to his little sister. They never ceased on arguing something trivial.
The train rang for the final call for the trip to the main city.
"Jeez, were getting late! That's the final call!" I jumped and we immediately run fast towards the car door of the open train. It would be a waste if we missed our train because we were being slow.
We looked for our cabin and we found it immediately. This is a private cabin. Nix insisted of getting first class seats to avoid huge crowd in the economy train. Like what Hilary said, Nix is kinda picky for a man. More like a clean freak.
"It's great to have a private cabin!" Hilary clapped her hands as she fall seated over the soft red seat of the cabin suite.
We both seated side by side together, while Nix is on the other side. The window is just right our right side and I can see the other train as well, full of passengers. Some are standing already.
"Wow, they are full there." Hilary stated in awe and we are gawking in a very full train. I cannot imagine having myself there being squished by wolves. I'm pretty sure I'll get at least two broken bones after.
"That's the economy class. Very tight and crowded." Nix stated as he eyed the train as well.
"Seeing that, I am thankful that you insisted to have the first class cabin." I sincerely uttered and look in his eyes.
I was debating him before that I want to be in the economy class because the ticket is just too expensive. I don't want to burden mom because of this. I only have a good budget for roundtrip ticket for economy class. The ticket for the first class cabin is like gold!
Because I could not afford and Nix still insisted, it ended up that he paid for our tickets. Now, I clearly see why he insisted. But I owe him because of this. I guess, I’ll have to pay him—not now because I don’t have money to give, but someday. Maybe, treating him to an eat out will just be fine.
"You're welcome then." He responded and gave me a warm smile.
"Eeeeew! Why are you smiling like that? You creep!" Hilary complained. She was looking at her brother like she saw some weird organism.
I just laughed. We are not just used on Nix smiling. He's into frowning all the time like a constipated man. I can’t even remember the last time I saw him smiled. So his smile can be considered as a rare occasion.
I think, Hilary’s parents will throw a party knowing that their son smiled after such a long time.
"Shut up brat." Nix spat to his little sister and along with that, the train already started moving to the main city.
