Dad's dream

    I woke up a few our later as someone was calling me, "Bella, Bella" as I opened my eyes I heard "Doctor she opened her eyes." and I felt a hand squeezing mine.

    "Mss. Smith, can you hear me? How many fingers do you see?" a woman asked.

    "Hmm, where am I? What happened?" I said

    "Mss. Smith, you are in hospital, you feinted. Now can you tell me what do you remember?"

    "Hmm" and that was the moment all my memories hit me "My dad, I have to see my dad! Where is Matt?" I started panicking.

    "I am right here sweets. Your dad is in another room and we will go see him as soon as the doctor tells me everything is alright with you." he answered.

    "Mr. Davis, she is okay. The results seem fine. however I would like to talk to see you in a few days for a check up. Meanwhile you can go see your father." the doctor said.

    In that moment I stood up from the hospital bed and felt a little dizzy, however I did not care, I had to see my dad. Matt took my hand and we went to my father's room. Outside the room I saw Ethan who was waiting for news and when he saw me he approached "Are you okay?" he asked.

    "Yeah Ethan, I am okay, I just need to see my dad now." I said and entered the room.

    When I saw him laying there my eyes got blurry and I felt how my body started trembling, I felt fear, fear of losing him.

    "Dad" I said while approaching him "What happened? Are you okay?" and tears started coming down from my eyes. I felt a hand squeezing lightly my shoulder and when I turned around I saw Jack standing behind my back with red puffy eyes and I realized he was alone, Emma was not here, and he cried. Was my dad in that bad condition that made even Jack cry?

    "Baby girl" I heard my dad and I turned around to face him "I don't know how much I have left" he said

    "What are you talking about?" I said and turned to mom "Mom, what is he talking about? Is this a joke?"

    "Baby girl" my dad said "I have been diagnosed with cancer almost 6 moths ago, I am doing therapy, however, tonight I think that my body told me that it is not working."

    "How could you not tell me anything sooner? Dad I can lose you! I will do anything to save you." I started saying when he cut me and smiled

    "Bella" and I new the conversation will be very serious "I have a dream that only you can make it happen." he waited a moment as I watched him "I want to  see you married before I die. I want to give my treasure in the hands of a magnificent man that will cherish her and help her with the family business. I have dreamed of your wedding since the first time I held you in my arms." he said

    "I will do it dad, I will marry and I will have children, and you will be there to see your grandchildren. You will teach them how to play the piano and will play with them, just please don't leave me. Fight for this dream dad!" I said

    He reached my face and I felt his finger brushing my tears away as he said, "When honey? If you don't even have a boyfriend. I never saw you with a man and never heard your mom telling me that you were seeing someone."

    "Oh, I will find someone dad. I promise, just please fight with this." I started saying when he took a look at me and I understood that he was going to ask something from in.

    "I have found someone for you." he said while taking a deep breath and looking over my shoulder "I always dreamed that Jack will become my son and he is a perfect match for you. He is good in business, he loves your mom like it was his mom and you know him your whole life." he said

    "Dad, listen." I said cutting him "I will make your dream come true, but you can not ask that from Jack. I want a marriage full of love, like you and mom have, and Jack, well, he does not love me. We have been friends all our life and maybe he has other plans for his future. So maybe I could marry Ethan, he is a great guy and he is in loved with me. I know his family and his brother is my best friend, what do you think? I can get to love him one day."

    "No baby girl, you know him, but I don't." he said "And if you and Jack care for each other like friends I am more that sure that one day you will get to love each other. Plus I have already talked to Jack and he said that he will marry you as soon as I am out of hospital as long as you agree." I looked at jack in shock and disbelief. I had the impression I was dreaming or having a nightmare and he looked at me with mischief in his eyes. What was he planning?

    "Baby girl, will you do this for your dying dad?" my dad looked at me with hope in his eyes.

    "Okay daddy, I will do this for you." I said and saw his eyes shinning with love for me

    "Give your word to me baby girl." he said

    "I, Isabella Smith, give you father my word to fulfill the promise of getting married to Jack Adams as per your request." I said just like he thought me so many years ago. You see, the word of the Smith family was more important that any contract and my dad knew that I could have broken rules, contracts, but never my word as a Smith.

    "Good, thank you, baby girl. Now go home and rest. I will be released tomorrow morning and we will prepare all for the weeding to take place next weekend." he said and it hit me, he knew that he will be home tomorrow and he played me to give him my word today in order to have his dream made true. 

    As soon as I went out from the room, Jack followed me, "Bella" but he was cut by Matt "Sweets, are you okay? Is you father okay? What happened?" Matt said.

    "I got engaged" I said and Matt looked at me in confusion.

    "How come? You were single the last time I checked." I heard Ethan saying.

    "Well, she is not anymore. Next Saturday she will be Mrs. Adams." Jack answered to Ethan and I was shocked. Was he planning to keep his part of this deal?

    "Listen Jack" I looked at him "I gave my word to my father and I can't retreat, but you can, you can talk to him in a few days and tell him that you have changed your mind." I said while Matt was looking shocked, because he knew about the importance of giving my word, he knew that I would do that only if it was really important to me.

    "Do you think that I will change my mind? I will not!" he said "I will see you tomorrow to make the plans, on Sunday we will have the engagement party to make it official to the whole city and the media." he added "Now let's go, I will take you home" he continued while taking my wrist and pulling me to the exit "Have a great night, Matt...Ethan."

    When we arrived in the parking  I shook his hand off mine and yelled "What the f**k do you think you are doing? I am not one of your women that you can drag and do what you want with them. I am so sick of your attitude that I can't take it anymore."

    He turned to me and took 2 steps and I was facing his chest. He took my face in his hands and said, "Isabella, you are my promised fiance and you will be my wife and the mother of my children, please stop talking like this to me. I don't like Ethan near you, you belong to me, you are mine since the day I stole your first kiss, so stop complaining and get into the car. You will sleep at our home tonight and Jules will be very happy to have you there."

    "Did you lost your damn mind?" I said "Stop treating me like  property, because I am not." taking a deep breath and calming myself I continued "I am getting married to you to make my dad dream come true, but if my father dies, I am getting a divorce." I stated

    He started laughing and said, "Bella, you are mine, you just dont want to admit that to yourself. As for divorce, hmm, keep dreaming, you will never get one. Now get in the car." he replied and I was shocked.

    I entered the car and during the whole ride we haven't talked. I just felt his eyes on me once in while. When we got there, I exited the car without waiting for him and went straight into the mansion calling Jules.

    "What happened?" she said while coming downstairs from her room

    "Ask Nana to prepare a room for Bella, Jules" Jack yelled.

    "Why? She can stay in my room." Jules said

    "Not for a whole week." he answered

    "WOW, are you staying here for a week?" Jules asked me with happiness in her eyes.

    "No!" I answered, but Jack cut me when I was trying to continue "She will stay here a few days until we do all the preparations for the weeding and tomorrow we will announce the engagement. After the weeding she will stay in my bedroom." he said and left to his room.

    "What the f**k, Jack?" I yelled, but he already left.

    "Bella?" I heard Jules, she was confused.

    "Well, how should I put this? I will be your sister in law starting next weekend!" I said

    "WOW, that is awesome!" she was freaking out "Nana! Nana! Prepare the guest room for you future madam! Nana!"

    "Yes Miss, I will do it. It will be ready in 10 minutes." I heard Nana saying "It is nice to see you again, madam." she said while looking at me.

    "Nana, you know me my whole life, so stop calling me like this, I will always be Bella for you." I said while loooking at her.

    "You will be the madam of the house and if Sir will hear me calling you otherwise he will be very angry." she replied "Know I have to go. Would you like something special for breakfast?" she asked

    "Your specialty, Nana." I said and she left to prepare the room.
