-- Miccoli POV--
What the f**k are you doing?!
I scold myself through clenched teeth.
You can't break the rules like that!
I don't know what came over me. Seeing Cassidy sad like that did something, and in a moment of weakness, I wanted to console her, but I broke the rules. Incubus are not allowed to touch their concubines unless they are sleeping. Doing so outside of the trance, not only breaks the symbiotic relationship, but it also can lead to the concubine going insane. You see, when an Incubus has conquered a human, we must do so while they are in a trance - sleep paralysis- I believe they call it. During this time, both sides get something from the exchange. Lust is some of the most potent energy there is next to malice, an Incubus must feed on it to survive and the human gets a s****l experience that they would never experience in their world.
Rules
I scoff to myself. Funny how I NOW want to follow the rules. As if the current predicament that I find myself in is not a direct result of me not following the rules. I have to admit, however, being banished from your own kingdom would be a huge eye-opener for anyone and a constant reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control. -Still- this Little One, she makes me spiral...and that both terrifies and excites me. I have broken multiple rules over the three months of spending time with her, none too serious, but still rules nonetheless.
Come on Miccoli remember your goal...GET FOCUSED
I internally shout to myself as I bury my head into my hands.
"Hello...you're pretty" a little voice snaps me from my thoughts, and I jerk up to see where it came from. Before me stood a little human. She was beautiful, black hair with a white spot in front, caramel complexion, a big bright smile, and even bigger hazel doe eyes to match. There was no doubt that this was Cassidy's daughter, she was a spitting image of her. Just as suddenly as that realization hit me, another one hit me harder....she could see me.
SHIT
I hadn't cloaked myself to blend in with the shadows, or at the bare minimum shifted to look more like my human form. For three months, I had been super careful to stay in Cassidy room, in the darkness, never venturing into the house, but in my panic to not be seen by her I ran right into her daughter. What the hell was wrong with me? The bright-eyed human continued to stare at me, waiting for a response. "My mom said that it's very impolite to ignore people, but she also said that no one should be forced to talk when they don't wanna."I couldn't help but smile. She even talked like Cassidy. "Your mom is a smart woman. And thank you although as a man, I'm not sure I want to be called pretty." I scrunch up my nose and the tiny human laughs. "What's your name? Mine is Addeline." "Nice to meet you Addeline. I'm Miccoli."Addeline smiles a big toothy grin. "Hey! Our names almost sound the same!" I smile back at her and nod surprised at how casual she was having a conversation with a horned, man with white eyes and a tail. "Well it's very nice to meet you too!" she squeals. I sense her before I even see her, I always could - Cassidy- SHE WAS COMING! I quickly say goodbye to Little Miss Addeline and vanish into the shadows. Cassidy runs into the hallway only minutes after with a panic look on her face. "Who were you talking to Bug A Boo?" She questions. I find myself holding my breath. "Nobody mama, can I have my pancakes now!" She responds sweetly. Cassidy kisses her forehead and walks into the kitchen, but before Addeline joins her, she turns in my direction and says "MinOKELI if you're still here, don't worry your secrets safe with me but you owe me a tea party." and with that, she runs to the kitchen.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Rah, your infraction is...murdering 50 demons." I say halfway impressed, "Wow where did you find the time." "f**k you!" Rah spat back at me in return, almost dampening my mood. "Now Rah, that's not very nice is it?" I ask with an inquisitive look on my face. Rah knew why I was here, he knew that his death was unassailable, and yet still, I was surprised and equally annoyed at the gall he was showing. "Look Miccoli, we could work something out, maybe I could work for you. YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL ME!" There it was, the fear that I had been looking for. "You see the problem Rah is that I don't want to work out anything with you, you're a monster and for that, you must be punished." "Takes one to know one." Rah spat back, and I couldn't help but slightly wince at the retort. The truth was, I am a monster. I had killed way more people, and supernaturals’ than Rah, and yet here I was living today. "You know, had you not been a monster maybe your wife-" Rah's statement was interrupted by the display of my claws. Heat seeped through me, and it had only one target, Rah. With a swift movement, my claws connected with Rah's throat, sending blood gushing everywhere. I watched as he bled out, and couldn't help but enjoy the bit of pleasure it gave me from knowing that I was the cause. I placed my claw under his neck to catch some of the spray, and then slightly coated face and chest with it.
"Miccoli " my body stiffened. I already knew who it was. "I see you're enjoying yourself." Elder Helm was glaring at me. "You can't expect me to become an angel overnight," I mused. "Well, one would have thought the lost of the kingdom, and stature might have helped. He spat back. I stared at him. I wanted to rip his f*****g throat out, but I knew that doing so would start a war that I was not prepared to handle. "How can I help you Elder?" I asked while pushing Rah's body off the blood-soaked chair to sit in. "I wanted to tell you that we have been impressed with your turn around. Your numbers have been astounding, specifically within the last three months." Elder Helm rattled on not noticed that I had completely tuned him out at this point. My thoughts floated back to Cassidy. Would she be impressed? Of course not, I scold myself, she would be absolutely terrified to know that supernatural’s even existed, let alone that one has been secretly stalking and semi f*****g her for three months, and that same one was a notorious killer. I couldn't help but scoff to myself. Why did I want to make her proud? "What are you thinking about?" Elder Helm asked interrupting my thoughts. "Just wanted to know if you had any leads on my wife's gravesite. I want to visit her." "I told you before that I knew nothing of such matter." Replied Elder Helms clearly flustered. "Besides, right now you have more important things to take care of..like your redemption." I took a deep sigh and nodded in agreement. Elder Helm was right. I needed to do whatever I could to get back to the Incubus Kingdom to give them the ruler that they truly needed.
