MEET THE FRIENDS I get the pleasure of riding with Jeff as we head to Bourbon Street. I think he just wants to show off his classic Mustang, ox-blood red. Keeping my thoughts to myself, I prefer to take my sedan and follow him, in case I decide to leave early. It’s nice to have the option to duck out if I’m not feeling the company. I guess tonight, grin-and-bear-it is on the menu. I’m anxious about tonight, though I should be a good sport and take it with a smile. I should be more infused in his life, opening myself up to his circle of friends. It’s bad enough meeting his well-educated friends, but of all places, we have to meet at a bar.
