OLD WORLD WITCHERY I left early this morning to stop by MetroPCS to get a new cell phone. Jeff, as always, gave me the money. Bummer that I broke my old phone. I really liked it too. On the upside, Tad can’t call me anymore, no matter how many burner phones he goes through. I walk into Old World Witchery at 8:45. A brush of warm air flutters through my hair. It’s unusually chilly today, and I’m wishing I’d been more prepared than wearing a light sweater. I see Ms. May at the register counting money and setting up for the day. Ethan’s teasing about draining blood from goats is a big fat tale. I roll my eyes at the vision of his amused face laughing at my shock. I still want to slug him. As I make my way to the counter, Ms. May pops her head up from the register and smiles. “Oh, hi hon!”
