I guess I passed out while waiting because I woke and he was gone. I sit up and notice a blanket over me. I look around and hear a loud bang. He walks out of the hallway and notices I'm awake.
" I needed to get some more herbs, I should be done in like 15 minutes. "
I sit there quietly till he finishes.
" Okay I'm done, here you go. "
He gets up and hands me a bag.
" That should be enough to last a few weeks, it will take me a while to make to rest of it. "
I nod. " Thank you. "
He takes a closer look at me. " Your name is familiar, but I don't know where from. "
He stares at me for a few seconds. " Hmm. Your face isn't familiar, it could be just your name, must've heard it somewhere. You can go back upstairs, and you take 2 pills a day, one in the morning and one at night. "
" Okay, thank you. "
He goes back to the table and I head for the door. I leave the basement and hear my stomach growl. They still haven't given my anything to eat yet, maybe if I go in and ask their give me some food. I walk into the house and am already lost. The house is huge and looks a lot like and apartment. I remember where Val's office is but shes busy, I don't where to go. So I just slowly walk around the house, then bump into someone.
" Oh I'm sorry. " I say stumbling back.
I look up and see a man.
" It's alri- "
He stops talking and gives me a shocked look.
" You! "
" What? "
He grabs me by the throat and slams me into the wall.
" What are you doing here. " He shouts.
" I was. " I stutter terrified
" Answer me! " He shouts as he punches the wall by my head.
All I can do is just tremble and cry.
" Seriously, is this some kind of act or something. "
" I'm sorry. " I stutter again.
" Sorry is that you have to say, really. It's your fault my mate is dead, and all you can say is sorry. "
" What do you mean. " I stutter.
" If it wasn't for you, he'd still be alive. "
" I don't know what you mean. " I stutter again
" W-w-what d-d-do you m-mean. Stop with this act kid, I know exactly what you are. "
He punches me hard in the face and I fall to the ground.
" You little b***h, you think you can come here, I'm going to f*****g kill you. "
" I'm sorry. " I squeak out.
" Stop saying sorry. " He yells as he kicks me in the ribs, almost sending me through the wall.
I scream out in pain.
" Whats going on. " I hear someone else yell.
" Alpha, She is the reason Nathan is dead. "
I look at the alpha with pleading eyes.
" What. " The alpha says shocked.
" During the war she got in the way and was saved by another wolf, Nathan. " He sighs. " Nathan jumped in front of me to take to hit and he died. I haven't forgotten either of their scents. "
The alpha walks over to me. " You're the reason my son is dead. "
" I don't know wha- " I cut myself off.
Wait during the war 5 years ago, I almost got attacked by a wolf, was that him. I was outside when the first wave hit, it was a nice day and I wasn't sick. I was just sitting in the backyard, when a wolf came out of the trees. I thought it was one another pack member and paid no mind.
Suddenly it lunged at me and my father came out. He jump over me and went to attack the wolf, but another jumped in front of him and took the hit. The wolf died almost immediately and my father grabbed me and brought more into the pack. I hid with the others that couldn't fight, and we waited till it was over.
" So it is you. " The alpha says.
" I didn't mean for it to happen, my dad was just protecting me. " I say weakly.
The alpha grabs my hair and pulls it. " What about my son. "
" Dad, what are you doing. " I hear another voice yell out.
" Oh Conner, hello son, we found the person responsible for your brothers death. " The alpha says.
" What. " He looks at me. " She's just a kid. How can it be her fault. "
" Her father killed your brother because of her. " The other man says.
Conner walks over to the man and punches him. " I don't blame his death on anyone but you. "
" What. " He says in shock.
" Because of your stupidity hes dead. Now killing a child isn't going make it right, this is why I can't stand this pack. You focus your anger on one thing and don't care, your as bad as her pack. "
" What did you say. " The man says as he grabs him by the shirt.
" You better watch yourself mark, I'm your future alpha. "
Mark scoffs. " Alpha really. When have you ever showed interest in that, the only reason your becoming alpha is because Nathan died. He would've made a great alpha. "
" Yea he would've, with his sorry excuse of a mate. He defied everything to have you as his mate. My brother was a good man, and you were a wolf with anger issues. He tried to help you but all you did was treat everyone like s**t, even him. "
Mark rises his fist to hit him, but is stopped by the alpha. " Don't you dare hit him. "
" Oh wow, now you care huh. " Conner says glaring at his dad.
" Watch your mouth son. " The alpha says angrily.
Mark starts to walk away and as he passes me I cower, and he just kicks me in the head and I fall unconscious.
