Victor parks the car and we head inside the mall.
" So where to now. " I ask
" Let's get something to eat, first. "
" I've never eaten anything other than the food at the pack. "
" Oh yea, you've never really had any fast food or anything. We're going to a restaurant tonight, so don't eat anything big. "
We walk to the cafeteria and he looks at all the food places.
" Lets just get some fries okay. "
" What are fries. "
He gibes me a shocked look and then smiles.
" You're gonna see. "
We walk up to the food place and wait inline.
" Why haven't you come into town before. " He asks.
" Well I was always sick, then I got powers and could hear everyone. Conner thought it best for me to learn to control it first, I tried my best but its hard sometimes. "
" I get it. When I awakened I couldn't control myself, doesn't help I come from a strong pure-blood family. I had to stay locked up for 30 years before I could control myself around humans. "
" 30 years!? " I say shocked. " How old are you. "
" Only 300 years old, I'm still young for a vampire. "
I kinda just look at him in shock.
" What? How old did you think I was. "
I shrug my shoulders. " I don't know....Like....early 30's. "
He chuckles. " Yea it kinda shocks people when they learn how old I am, Conner practically had an aneurysm when I told him how old I was. Oh its our turn. "
We walk to the counter and order 2 large fries.
" Okay lets go over there and wait for it. " He says
We walk down the counter.
" You want some ketchup? " He asks
" Sure, I've never really had ketchup before. "
" I've found that over that past few decades, werewolves have gone back to living off the land. You got your own livestock and everything, but you do converse with humans more. Every species does more, especially since hunters have mostly vanished. "
" We don't really buy food because of the stuff in their foods. "
" Yet again you guys eat fast food like crazy. " He smirks at me.
" This is the first fast food I'm ever having. "
" I guess it is huh, oh here's our food. "
The worker hands us our food. " Thank you. " We both say.
Victor brings the tray to a table and we sit down, he hands me my fries and I take a bite of a fry.
" Wow, these are good. "
He chuckles slightly. " Try them with ketchup. "
I dip some fries in ketchup and eat it. " Amazing "
He chuckles again and starts eating as well. After a bit we finish eating.
" Okay, it's almost 2 o'clock and I made the reservation for 7, so lets do some shopping and sight seeing. I have today planned to give you a good early birthday. " He smiles.
" What places are we going. "
" That's a surprise, but first we are going shopping. "
" Where we goin first. "
" I don't know, let's just walk around, I also need to buy some new clothes before I leave. "
" Okay. "
We both get up and throw away our garbage and start walking around the mall.
" I don't usually buy clothes, Conner buys them for me. "
Victor chuckles. " Yea, the last time you bought your own clothes, It was. " He chuckles slightly. " The stuff you bought was. " He starts laughing.
" How the hell was I supposed to know, okay. I ordered it online, it was my first time ordering clothes okay. "
He continues laughing. " It was dog clothes. "
I groan in frustration. " How was I supposed to know. "
" It says, you dummy. "
I sigh. " Whatever. "
I walk into a random store and try to ignore his laughing. He follows and soon stops laughing and pats my shoulder.
" Sorry, that was the best though. So what are you looking at. "
" I don't know, I've never shopped for myself. "
He claps his hands then rubs them together. " Okay, good thing I'm used to picking clothes out. One of the pros of having over a dozen sisters. "
" What!? "
He chuckles. " Just kidding, I have 3 sisters. "
" Why is it only you that comes. "
He sigh. " Lots of people did, but when the attack happened. " He sighs again. " A few vampires died. You guys are the only ones that can make the meds that allow us to go in the light. We used to wait 400 years to be able to walk in sunlight, then we used charms, but then Conner's mom found with her specialty in herbs.
" Why'd you stop using charms? "
" Well the charms would run out and with the meds we can walk in the sunlight, and only need to take them for 10-20 years before it's permanent. "
" Oh really. "
" Yea Conner and his mom are the only ones that can make it, it takes a long time and is kinda dangerous. "
" Do you use it. "
" Not anymore, it's permanent now. " He smiles. " But we don't let anyone use it though, you have to be able to control yourself. Hunters for werewolves are mostly gone but for vampires, there' s still a lot of hunters for us still. "
" I don't really know much about vampires, and Conner doesn't say much about anything."
" Yea, hes pretty reluctant about that. It's probably because of our mothers. "
" Mothers? "
" Yea during the first attack 16 years ago. " He lets out a deep sigh. " They both died during the attack. "
" Oh I'm sorry. "
He pats my shoulder. " It wasn't your fault. Now try this on. "
He hands me a whole bunch of clothes.
" When did you pick all these out. "
He smirks. " I got skills. "
" Shut up. " I chuckle slightly.
" Now go try them on, and get out of those old jeans. "
" Hey, they aren't that old. "
" Just go. "
He guides me to the change rooms and I go in.
