The Runaway and The Demon Prince

     Throughout the year’s people have wondered what the underworld looks like. As well as if it really is just a giant empty place filled with fire ruled by a giant horned animal man-beast. However, this isn’t the case, the underworld looks kind of like earth except it's hotter and there aren’t any plants. The Underworld is also split into different districts kind of like countries. In one of the districts, a king named Lazar Alastor and his wife, Valencia Alastor were both expecting a baby girl. They were excited and couldn’t wait to take care of her, raise her to be an amazing queen and they had planned on naming her Emberlyn. Now before I tell you more about Emberlyn’s story and who she is there is a tale I must tell you first. In the depths of hell resides all kinds of demons and their races. Some weaker than others. However, there are some that are stronger than the Devil himself. (Though they don’t know it) But, there is one race of demons that no one, not even the devil himself, would mess with. This certain type of race is called the Caecus These demons are born blind thus enhancing their already demon-like powers by ten times that of a regular demon. There are some disadvantages to the Caecus… their life span can be the same as humans. However, there are a few whose life span can also double that of a regular demon's lifespan. Caecus are very unlikely to be seen in the demon world since they weren’t as appreciated and loved as they should have been. Thus leading them to flee to the human world to live among them and hide from their pasts that have left scars. This brings us back to our beloved Emberlyn Alastor.      The night Valencia gave birth to Emberlyn they were so happy until the doctor told them something they weren’t happy to hear. “I’m greatly sorry Your Highness and Majesty but it seems your daughter is a Caecus” Lazar was in disbelief and asked to see her. There was no way that his wife could have given birth to a child that was blind let alone a Caecus demon; it was impossible. As he looked down at the baby he slowly grounded his teeth together when he saw Emberlyn's cloudy purple-blue eyes he was pissed. It made no sense to him whatsoever as to how this happened. He handed Emberlyn over to Valencia and stormed out. As he made his way to his study he tried to think of ways as to how this happened. When he finally reached his study, he went over to one of his many bookcases and read every spin to find an old leather-covered spin he forcefully pulled out the book he was looking for. It was a book about Caecus and how it was possible that his child could be born this way. He angrily flipped through the pages and finds out the only way it was possible is if one of the parents has the gene in their blood but it is rare for this to happen to demon parents who aren’t Caecus at all. Lazar throws the book across the room and bangs his fists on his desks.  “ Get me the doctor…” He said to the guard who was standing near. “ Now!” He yelled and the guard ran off and went and got him.  “ you summoned me, your Highness?” The doctor asked as he bowed. “ No one must know The child exists…” “ But sir she’s your first bor-” “ I don't care if she is my firstborn There is no way in hell I am going to be knocked off of my thrown cause my stupid wife gave birth to that monster! Now like I said no one shall know that the child was born, says the queen had a miscarriage understood?  The doctor nods and leaves the room and tells the people that the queen ended up having a miss carriage and for weeks pretended to be very sad and upset and even held a ceremony for her to make it seem even more real. During the years after Emberlyn was born her parents treated her horribly, they made her sleep in one of the towers of the castle. By the time Emberlyn was 12 her parents had already had new kids, one regular demon, one male and one female. Her siblings didn’t treat her any better either. As Emberlyn grew up she slowly started to distrust people around her and felt as if everyone hated her just because she was Caecus. One night one of Emberlyn’s sisters had ended up tricking her into dueling them and when she attacked them they had screamed.  “ DAD!” She yelled and both the king and queen ran to where they were and over to the sister who was on the floor holding her arm.  “ What happened honey are you okay?” Lazar asked as he looked down at her.  “ She attacked me Dad. She said she was going to kill me and take my place.”  Emberlyn couldn’t believe her ears as she listened to what she was saying, “ Sir, that is not true I would never hurt anyone, especially not my sister.” Lazar looks at his two daughters.  “ Emberlyn go to your tower now I’ll come to deal with you later.” He says harshly and picks his daughter up and carries her to the castle doctor to have him look over her,  Emberlyn did as told and sits on her bed as she waits for him to come to see her. Lazar marches up the stairs to the tower and storms into Emberlyn's run and smacks her across her face.      “ How many times have I told you not to use your powers around your sister and brother, you monster?!” He yells Emberlyn holds her cheek and looks down at the ground and says softly “Too many sirs.”  “ Do to the cause of your recent actions you will be arrested and hanged for hurting the princess and not listening to your King,” Lazar says and turns his back to her as two of his guards come out and grab a hold of her.      “ NO PLEASE! IT WAS AN ACCIDENT IT won’t HAPPEN AGAIN,” Emberlyn begs as she gets dragged away. “ DAD PLEASE, WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME!” Emberlyn cries out as she thrashes in the guard’s arms.      “ Because your Caecus and you're a monster and you’re not my daughter my Emberlyn isn’t a Caecus,” Lazar says and watches as Emberlyn gets carried away and down the tower stairs. The guards throw Emberlyn into one of the empty cells in hell and leave to resume their posts. Emberlyn was trapped in that dungeon for a month before her hanging. During that month she toughened up and grew a hatred for her parents and siblings now know that everyone thought she was dead when in reality she wasn’t the night before her hanging she used her powers to steal the key to her cell from one of her guards and ran to her tower grabbed a bag and packed what little she had and stole money from two of the guards who had passed out while on duty.  When they found out she was missing her father Lazar was pissed and sent guards out to find her. She’s been on the run for two years now. Emberlyn had lost the guards in the second district and is now in the third where a group of drunken guards circle around which brings us the beginning of Emberlyn and Tharen’s story.
