We decided not to stay too long at the bungalow, we didn't know if anybody was living there and didn't want to be spotted by anyone. I carried on walking the same way that we had been heading, walking a lot slower on two legs instead of four, but I knew Rylie would appreciate the rest. It was much scarier walking in the darkness now, my weak human eyes were no match for Rylie's super wolf eyes. I jumped at every sound I heard, thinking that someone or something was going to jump out at me. "Calm down Gwen, you're going to give yourself heart failure. " Rylie laughed. "That's easy for you say" I replied, "you're like a super wolf" Rylie laughed, "Super Rylie, what colour Cape should I wear?" We both laughed and I started to relax a bit as I carried on walking.
I had been walking for hours, just heading in the same direction. The sun had started to rise and I could make out my surroundings now. Everywhere looked the same. I was still on a well worn path, and still had forests all around me. Had we been going in circles all night? I had to stop and rest. As great full as I was of the clothes we had found, walking all night in too big boots had taken its toll on my feet. I headed into the forest, making sure I was still well hidden, sat down, removed my boots and started to cry. "Why are you crying Gwen?" Rylie asked, she had been sleeping for the last couple of hours, she needed the rest. "I've been walking all night Rylie, my feet are sore, I'm tired and I think we've been walking in circles" I sounded like a baby whining. I was too tired and sore to feel embarrassed by my whining. "Gwen, you've walked a long way, rest now, let me lead the way." Rylie replied. She was so caring, and sounded so much like my mum used to. This set off even more tears, I miss my parents so much. I would give anything to have them with me now. To hold me, and tell me that everything was going to be OK.
I stripped off my clothing and let Rylie take over. It was so relaxing inside Rylie's mind. So warm, comforting and safe. It took seconds for me to fall asleep.
When I woke, the sun was high in the sky, I had slept for hours. "Where are we Rylie?" I asked sleepily, our surroundings were completely different. There was still a forest to our left, but to the right there was a bridge that looked like it was over a lake. "We're just outside a village called Lunex" Rylie said, " It's definitely a wolf village, I can smell it, but something is different about it" "What's different?" I asked, feeling slightly panicked. I don't like different, different could mean dangerous. "I can't smell any males" Rylie replied, sounding puzzled "I want to get a closer look" She continued, "I'll stay low, so we are undetected."
Rylie crept closer to the bridge, she lowered herself gently into the water swimming under the bridge instead if walking over it. She swam stealthily, along the lake, then crept out into some nearby bushes for cover, sniffing the air constantly. "There are definitely no males on this territory " Rylie said, staying low in our hiding place. "Can we get any closer Rylie, I want to see more?" I asked, not knowing where my sudden bravery came from. "I can try, but I need to stay low." Rylie stuck her nose out and took a big smell of our surroundings, before slowly moving forward. There was a large building that looked like a garage just ahead if us, Rylie ran to it, still keeping low and darted to the back, hiding behind some boxes that were stored there. We could hear people, women talking around the back of the building. The wall was too thick to hear what they were saying, but whatever they were talking about sounded urgent. It sounded like two women talking to start with, but soon more women joined the conversation, Rylie was straining really hard to listen to what they were saying, but could only make out the occasional word. "Alert", "Rogue", "Garage" Oh no, they were talking about us, they knew we were here! "Rylie, what do we do?" I shouted, in total panic, but it was too late to do anything.
"Shift!" a voice said angrily behind us. My heart stopped, I was terrified. "I said shift" came the voice again sounding angrier. I could hear growls coming from wolves in the garage. "You better do as she says for now Gwen" Rylie whimpered, " I can still protect you if you need me, but shift back now before they get really angry." I did as Rylie said and shifted back to myself. "I shifted" I whispered to the angry voice. "Come out of there" She commanded. I froze, I didn't know what Rylie had done with my clothes, "I have no clothes" I whispered. I heard the woman sigh in frustration. "Here" She said, and threw something at me, it was I long jumper. I quickly put it on, it fell bellow my knees. I stood up, took a deep breath and stepped out to face them. The woman who had spoke looked to be around thirty years old, she was beautiful. Tan skin, long brown hair that fell down her back and a figure to die for. There were three big wolves stood just behind her, and group of other women stood in the doorway. "Who are you, and what do you want here?" She demanded. I couldn't answer, I had lost the ability to talk, my mouth was dry, I was shaking and I could feel my head going fuzzy, then the darkness hit me.
When I opened my eye's again I was somewhere different. This place was bright, too bright. l was laying down on something that felt like it should be a bed, but was too hard. I tried sitting up, and then pain hit me. I looked down at my body and I could see that my wrists and ankles had been chained to the "bed" frame to stop me from moving. The chains were made from silver and were burning me, the pain was unbearable. I screamed in pain, trying to get the chains loose, they wouldn't loosen at all.
A door I hadn't noticed before opened, and the same woman from before walked in. "So you do have a voice then" She said. She appeared nicer and friendlier than before, but I wasn't going to trust her. "My name is Tia, I am one of the Luna's here." She said, "Can you tell me your name?" I just looked at her, I don't know why my words wouldn't form, "Calm down Gwen" Rylie whispered, "I don't feel danger from her" "Um, m-my names G-Gwen" I stuttered out. Tia smiled, "Thank you Gwen, I find it easier to have a conversation with someone if I know what to call them. Now, what brings you to Lunex?" I shook my head, not sure what to say. "I don't know" I whispered. "We were just walking this way and we came across your village, We didn't know it was here." "We?" questioned Tia, "Is there someone else travelling with you?" I felt tears on my face, I didn't realise I was crying, "N-no, it's just me and my Wolf, just us." Tia pulled a chair up next to me, "Your wolf? how old are you Gwen? she seemed softer, more kind now. "I've just turned sixteen two days ago" She looked at me, slightly confused, "sixteen? you look so much younger. So you've only just met your wolf?" I nodded, "I've been talking with her since my thirteenth birthday, but we have only just met properly. " She smiled, " and what is it that has made you and your wolf travel in our direction?" "I don't know" I replied, "We were just running straight ahead, we had no plan of where we were going, we just went and ended up here. My Wolf said she could smell she-wolves, but no male wolves, I guess we got curious and wanted a closer look." I took a breath, "I'm really sorry, we didn't mean to intrude, if you let me go, we will leave straight away. you won't see us again, I promise. "
