“So what are your hobbies?” Kai asked trying to start up a conversation.
“She likes reading and listening to music,” Tristyn said which of course Kai couldn’t hear.
“Huh?” Iorwen looked turning her heads from one side to other.
She was surprised by right on spot answer from Tristyn.
“Hobbies Iorwen?” Kai prompted.
“Reading and listening to music.” Her words echoed Tristyn’s words.
“What do you think about traveling?” Kai asked with a smile now.
“As long as I am with her, she will be fine. With anyone else I think she hates traveling, she is more of a stay at home or teleport her directly to the spot kind of person.” Tristyn said concluded with his thought.
Iorwen was left utterly shocked at his so right and accurate judgment.
“I would love to travel.” She replied to Kai with an altered answer since she was in no mood to repeat the right thing to him.
“Me too! I think travelling is great. So dream destination?” Kai was excited now.
“Umm..” This time she almost waited to hear Tristyn’s reply.
“Harry Potter world.” He stated with confidence.
And this time she choked on her coffee. She gestured from her hand to Kai to stay seated and wiped clean table in front of her.
How the hell did he knew that? She wanted to strangle him, hold him by collar and interrogate him but she just edited the answer to the most obvious one, Switzerland. All her friends said that and she decided to go with it.
Suddenly Kai’s hand shot up and wiped the coffee that was still left on her lower lips after choking on it! She stiffened and tried to glare at him but it came more like a surprise.
“Iorwen you haven’t told me a single truth besides your hobby, why is that?” He asked softly.
Totally surprised she looked at Kai. How did he know that?
“Why would I lie?” She said not losing her cool.
“Because you still not feel that I deserve to know the truth, to know the real you.”
What was happening, the guy next to him knew everything about her and the boy in front of her was said as if he had looked through her very soul.
“Good thing you realised Kai, I do not open up easy and I don’t even want to. I am quite content with my solo self so excuse me but I will have to leave now.” She said getting up and not in a bit trying to show how weirded out she was.
From her peripheral vision she noticed that Kai wanted to say something but he just pursed his lips and sat back in silence. She moved out of the coffee place and sighed heavily.
This was more of a disaster than a date!
“I told you the guy was not right.” Tristyn said catching up to her.
“or maybe he is a real good judge of character?” Iorwen murmured not ready to accept that Tristyn might be right.
“Are you seriously defending him Senorita?” there was incredulous disbelief in his tone.
She thought about the question for a while and then answered.
“No, definitely not since he gave me the chills with all the looking through soul kind of talk.” She agreed and noticed a small smile play on Tristyn’s lips.
“Leave me alone.” She said anger seeping through her voice.
“Why, you sad that I messed up the date with your fan?” There was annoyance in his tone though he tried to joke about it.
“Moore, it was not a DATE! My friends tricked me into it and I do not understand what is it to you?” She glared at him angrily.
“I hate seeing you with any other guy.” He said in a sensual tone eyeing her with intensity.
Iorwen stopped and turned at him sharply shocked at the tone of his words. She can’t believe just said what he said. He almost declared she was his and that no other male was to be seen with her.
“And Moore just a friendly little reminder, you do not own me or my life so I can what I want. It’s your problem what you hate not mine.”
Tristyn smiled lightly and sighed. Even the best lines are useless on her. Girls loved when boys got all possessive about them but she, she was obviously different.
“But I am your soul mate Senorita.” He sounded like a whiny child.
“In your dreams Invisible.”
“Yeah, all I dream about is you.” He said this with a cheeky grin.
“How the hell do you know so much about me?” She asked peeping at him with curiosity.
His electric blue eyes shot up and grinned.
“More than a month has passed, you are the only one I can talk to, and don’t you think it was my responsibility to know certain things about you.” He said once without teasing her with a perverted response.
And the thought touched her, it was hurting how he was so lonely and she was the only one who can see her. She had never thought it that way, she had been narrow minded and made a prejudiced decision about the playboy. He had no one to talk to, to relate his daily feelings to or even acknowledge him. He was just ignored.
Now she had to know why he was invisible as he repeatedly stated that he was not dead.
“But I know nothing about you.” She said softly.
Her tone surprised him and turned to look at her face.
“Senorita, that tone of yours is not helping my concentration.” There was edge of truthfulness in his teasing voice.
“And we are back to flirting.” She said tiredly yet amused.
“I never stopped, it’s my life goal to make you fall in love with me.”
“Dream on Invisible, it’s not going to happen.”
“Of course it will happen. It will take time but it will happen. Who wouldn’t fall in love with me?”
“I am not ‘love’ kind of person. I do not believe in this romantic crap.”
“Who said anything about romance, I am all about passion!” Tristyn husky, sensual voice sent shivers down her.
“Haha, Moore, I can’t believe girls would fall for all the bullshit you say.”
“But they did, and sometimes without even talking. I am a natural charmer Senorita!”
She scoffed in a most un-lady like manner.
“GOD! You are like...like Ego- Ego Everest!” She finally decided on the world.
“Ego-everest, I think I like that.”
“You do know your ‘natural charm’ is not working on me?”
“Unfortunately I know Senorita and it’s really torturing my soul.”
His tone was not light and it actually felt as if it did matter to him that she remained so unaffected by him. But it was not entirely true, it was weird and unsettling but she was a tiny bit affected.
“It’s getting late, I have to go.” She said feeling awkward.
“I wish I could have driven you home.”
“Aww..This is almost sweet Moore.” She said feigning girly response.
He chuckled.
“Well we both could have enjoyed an intense make out session in the ‘privacy’ of car.”
“And I almost thought you are a nice guy.”
“I am a perfect guy.”
“Just according to you, maybe.”
“And according to rest of the female population.”
“I am a female.”
“And I would have doubted that it had it not been for those beautiful green eyes.” He said bending down closer to her face.
Instinctively her eyes widened and she gulped.
Think of smart comeback Iorwen! Her mind encouraged but there was something severely wrong with her heart which was thudding painfully in her chest.
The feeling was strange and she was trying to discover the reason behind it.
Surely it’s not Tristyn and his words, his smile, that dimple, his eyes....arghhh!
“What did I say about the wide eyes Senorita?” He warned darkly.
She cleared her throat and stepped back gracefully.
“That it makes me look even uglier.” She said weakly attempting to joke off.
He grinned shaking his head.
“I will not exactly put you in ugly category.”
“Go now Invisible; we actually walked all the way from school. My home is close now.” She said slightly pushing him away with her hands.
Tristyn’s eyes flicked to the point where her hands touched his upper arm and he smiled slyly.
“Finally your desire to touch me over came your stubbornness.”
She immediately removed her hands and sighing deeply turned to leave without bothering to reply.
“Will see you tomorrow Senorita!”
She waved her hand over her shoulder without looking back and unknowingly a smile creeping on her face.
As she walked by on the lane feeling weirdly happy after a long time or maybe first time she tried to put finger on what was happening? Did Tristyn made her smile? Or was it that finally that some guy was paying attention to her.
No she had never been boy desperate and she was really okay being alone and free. But for some reason she was happy.
Suddenly her process of thought came to a halt when she felt as if someone was following her. She turned her head sharply but found no one. Her steps quickened towards her now visible house at the end of the lane.
She could feel someone’s prying eyes following her and she kept watching her back finding no one each time. The chill of the night was bothering her as she felt the cold wind on her face. She should have taken the car but Lucas and Rachel took it. Frankly she knew it was their little plan to allow her to take a car ride with Kai.
She was not afraid of someone following her, she could just kick their asses.
But her uncanny instincts said there was someone; she just wanted to find out whom.
As she was about to enter her house, she noticed a shadow... more than a shadow, few shadows. She was still not scared and turned to find the owner of the shadow but the cold dark night was all she saw.
She was so damn sure someone else was following her.
