SELENE ♧
I wouldn't consider the ride as a sweet one because it was forced. I didn't want any of these. All I wanted was to become a nun sister. At least, I was earning that title since I made up my mind never to go back to stripping again.
Stripping has been my number one job, the one that made me survive the harsh Houston, Texas after my brother cut ties with me. Well, maybe I am a b***h but that doesn't mean I should suffer because of my brother's actions.
Being a stripper isn't what I am proud of but it is what paid my bills until I decided I wanted to go the Lord's way. Who knew taking the decision would be the worst I have ever taken in my entire life?
Maybe if I had continued stripping in Agnes strippers club, maybe I wouldn't have witnessed that pope's death, maybe I wouldn't have ran away in fear for my dear life, maybe this man sitting right here beside me will never know of my existence.
"We need to buy gas, boss." The driver announced.
It pulled me out of my thoughts, noticing the car was moving slower than fifteen minutes ago. It needs gas urgently, I guess.
The man, my kidnapper hissed angrily. "Didn't you check the car before bringing it on a mission before? It is low on gas?" He reprimanded.
Mission -- he means killing Father Gabe right? I bit my lips, trying to avoid the flash of that knife sinking deep into his stomach and the flash of blood all over the ground.
"Drive to a f*****g gas station!" The sudden yell sent me to reality again. Does he need to shout? The innocent driver was only making it known to him so he wouldn't be questioned when he stopped to buy gas.
'They were all involved. None of them are innocent.' My mind echoed and I winced.
We stopped at a gas station. It was a lady selling it. I tried to make it known to her that I was kidnapped but she didn't even throw a glance my way. It wouldn't work.
"Boss, she said you have to go inside and pay." The driver relayed the information, peeping from the window.
The moment he stepped out, holding his tablet, an idea popped into my head immediately. I can't allow them to take me to God knows where. What is he going to.kill me where they are taking me to? This might be my only chance.
My eyes roamed around and also glanced backwards. There is a car behind us where his bodyguards obviously are. The gas station is a wide space. It will be easy to carry out my little plan.
No one is in the car with me. "Keep an eye on her." I saw him mutter, looking at me while he walked straight into another place. I guess that is where he is going to pay.
My heart was beating fast. I need to escape but how? Not when many eyes are on me. They are following their master's instruction. Any attempt from me, I will be seized and probably killed.
But my strong mind refused to back down. The pop open of the car made me snap my eyes upwards to see if anyone heard it. With a sprint, I dashed towards the exit of the gas station.
"Let her go." The man came outside and I heard him clearly, stopping his bodyguards from running after me. But why?
Well, that is none of my business. I have to get away from here as soon as possible. My legs carried me as fast as I could. I looked around with the breeze blowing my brown and blonde hair.
"Someone, please help!" I cried out. People were passing by. There are shops, cars moving around -- I ran towards an older man. "Please, help me. I am being kidnapped." I held his hand.
The man swatted my hands off him, "Leave me be, youngster!" He spat and his whole breath was stenched with alcohol.
I walked towards another woman, "Please, help me madam. I am being kidnapped." I told her.
"Then, go to the police!" She shouted, rather angrily.
I folded my lips harshly. What should I do? Everyone I turn to for help either yells at me or rebukes me angrily.
"Would you like to go to the police?" Someone asked.
I smiled in relief and turned towards the person, "You!" It was him again.
"You can try to run, sexy nun but you can never escape, not when I have you within my arm reach." He said with a confident smile on his face.
God, I hate him so much. "If you are so sure of yourself, why can't you just leave me the f**k alone?" I yelled at him, gritting my teeth in anger.
"I will but I guarantee that you will come back crawling to me in less than twenty minutes." He raised his hands up in surrender with a stupid bet.
"You lie -- in your dreams, kidnapper!" I mocked and watched him walk away with his phone in his ear. He gave me a back glance and winked. That looked irritating. Did he just go on his own way though?
Quickly, I remembered what I was still unto. He could come back any minute from now. I went to the roads, unsure of where to go. All of a sudden, the traffic light showed red and I stopped right in front of the road.
The cars looked like knives that were pointed right at me. "I didn't see you. I swear!" My voice resounded in my ear. The flashes I had avoided earlier, they are right in front of me, staring at me with dangerous flares.
Father Gabe pleading and begging for his life. I was the only one who watched how my kidnapper killed him, his blood dripping to the floor.
"Leave the road and find somewhere to die!" Horns sounded, drivers shouted at me. I didn't realize the traffic red light had turned green and I was still in the middle of the road.
All of a sudden, two people seized, forcing me back to the reality of my surroundings. My heart jumped in fear because I thought it was that man's bodyguards but they were --
"You are just a young lady. Why are you violating the rules?" One of the policemen holding my hand asked.
Gently, they led me away from the road while I stared at them confusingly. "What are you talking about? What rules? What violation? Why are you holding me like this?" I asked.
They refused to let me go. "You violated the rules." They insisted.
"What rules? It was only a mistake standing there and I'm sorry but handling me this way? It's uncalled for!" I defended, trying to break free from their grasp.
Until I was closed in their van backseat did I know it was real. I just got arrested over some kind of mistake that can happen to anyone.
"Sit down and wait here." One of the officers forced me into one corner. I sighed, scratching my disheveled hair. My feet were starting to get red and swelling because I had walked and ran barefooted for hours.
All of a sudden, all the police officers that were in the office where I was sitting rose up like their boss just came in.
"You are here, sir." One of those who arrested me said, his hands behind his back.
Who is this person they are bowing to? Towering in fear? Could it be their boss? If it is their boss, I could explain my ordeal to him, tell him what happened. Who knows? He might ask his lower subordinate to let me go.
"Sir, I --" I flew out of my chair, heading towards the man who they were blocking with their bodies.
By the time I squeezed myself right into their middle, "There she is." Another point.
My jaw dropped when I saw the 'boss' "I guess I found you now, blonde." He whispered.
I darted backwards, wanting to run but to where? I have tried to run but it seems he is known all over the world. I mean, how can the police be bowing for a killer?
"How much is her bail?" My kidnapper asked the police and they mentioned several hundreds of dollars.
"What? No! I didn't do anything wrong." I shouted, trying to get to any of them who would take a punch from me. They are all cowards! Afraid of his knife? Because he is rich and he has connections?
The kidnapper transferred whatever amount of money to them before walking to where I was standing. He lowered himself a little bit since he is taller, "I told you, nun -- i told you there is nowhere you can run. I will always find you." Right behind my ears and that felt tingly.
"You wish!" I pushed myself away from him angrily.
He grabbed my arm a little too hard, his eyes running around to see if anyone was looking at him. "What do you think of your first little trial of escape? It didn't end well, huh?"
Is he trying to shove it to my face that I just failed? Let him thank his god that I don't know anywhere around here. Even the police are dancing right to his tunes. It is just too f****d up!
I tried to free my arm from his while he moved me towards the car. His grip is too strong. The streets are becoming more crowded. Maybe because it is a weekend night. Well, Texas is always busy.
All of a sudden, something smacked me behind my neck. "There is no escape, sexy nun." Those were the last words I heard before I slipped into unconsciousness.
