Chapter 15

I woke up that morning as Sam was getting out of bed, its only been 3 hours. It’s currently only 7am and we have barely slept at all. I just watched him as he shuffled across the room to get dressed. “Staring again?” he said with a chuckle. “Why don’t you go back to sleep baby, you don’t have to go to school until later like you said yesterday.” he said. “I don’t want to be in bed without you, I’ll go ahead and go to school, one more week and I’ll be done.” I said getting out of bed. “If that’s what you want to do sweetheart.” he said kissing my forehead. I walked over to my closet and picked out one of the outfits he had bought for me. I picked out an oversized sweater and some jeans and some slip on vans. For me to be the new Luna, he picked out such casual clothes for me, but no complaints from me, I enjoyed comfy clothes. We walked down to the dining room for breakfast and to our surprise everyone had beat us here. “Well look who decided to join us.” Dennis said with a smirk. “Denny, how many times are you going to make me tell you. f**k off man.” Sam said laughing. “I know we’re all late today but you all know of our adventures last night, Needless to say, it was very difficult to get out of bed today. We have a busy day today, a lot to go over. Cordelia has to go to school and I will need some guards posted at the school for her.” he said. “Guards?” I asked. I didn’t want guards, I could protect myself. “Yes darling, it is required every time you are away from the packhouse. I have to have guards myself. It’s just a rule we have to abide by.” he said. “Okay, if I have to have them around.” I said sighing. This sucks, I’ve never had to be supervised. I didn’t really understand why I had to have them to protect me from school, honestly what could happen at school? “Don’t read too much into it, our borders are secure and we are safe on our territory but there’s no way to make sure you’re completely safe unless you have guards. They don’t stay super close and they don’t pry but they watch from a distance to make sure nothing happens. I know you can handle yourself my love and I know what must be running through your head but its my job to make sure you stay as safe as I can.” Sam said. I guess I’ll just have to get used to a different kind of life, plus school only has one week left. “Alright guys, we have a lot to do today. Gabe, you’ll be working beside Christian today in army training. I need you to pull Connor Summers onto the field today from basic training and get him enrolled into the starting programs. I also need you and Christian to go over the basic training roster and see who is eligible to pulled into the pack army. Denny and Jerimiah, you two are going to be with me today after basic training, Gabe you can join us after army training and we will fill you in on everything. Also, ladies” Sam said looking at Alyssa and Sydney “I need your help with the ceremony planning. Cordelia is going to be sworn into her position this coming up full moon and my mother is going to need your help planning. Can you meet her at 9 in Cordelia’s office please?” he asked. “Duh! We’ll be more than happy to help!” the both said. “Don’t worry girl, we got you.” Alyssa said shooting me a wink. I nodded and smiled and looked back at Sam, I didn’t know we had to go through another ceremony, I thought the first one was it. I don’t know if I’m ready to do this Luna thing, I don’t know anything about half of what they’re talking about. “Oh stop it, mother goddess would not have put given us to him without knowing we would be perfect for the job. You’re so young, don’t scare yourself. We can handle anything together.” Zarya said in my head. “So stop bitching and just listen!” she snapped. She was right, mother goddess never makes mistakes, if she thinks I can do this, I can do this.

 We all finished our breakfast and I got up to say goodbye. I was already late for school but I didn’t care. They told us we had no school work this week, all we have to go for is attendance. I just really needed to see Christina and Joseph. I felt like they were missing so much of my life and it’s only been a couple days. So much has happened and I haven’t had the time to tell them at all, I’ve barely even looked at my phone since the ball. Sam grabbed my hand and walked me out to the SUV where I had two guards waiting for me. “I will see you when you get home, we have a lot to discuss when you get back. I know being our next Luna is stressful and it’s different than what you’re used to but I believe with my whole heart you’re going to be perfect at it.” Sam said. I stood on my tippy toes and kissed his lips. “I can do it, I just have a lot of getting used to, to do. I love you.” I said to him. “I love you, have a great day and call me anytime you want to talk.” he said leaning down kissing me again before helping me into the back seat of the car and closing the door. “Hello Miss Summers, I am James and this is Avery, we’ve been assigned as your guards. It is going to be an honor having Christian Summers’ daughter being our new luna.” he said. “Call me Cordelia, please. Thank you two very much.” I said. “Yes ma’am Cordelia. We have been instructed to take you to school today and for the rest of this week.” James said. “Bro, come on. You sound like a tool, if she’s anything like her dad she doesn’t need formalities and some uptight talk.” Avery said punching James in the arm. I couldn’t help but laugh “Yeah, guys. I’m not good at being treated like royalty, talk to me like you would anyone because it looks like we’ll be spending plenty of time together.” I said. “Alright then, I guess I just had to make sure you weren’t one of the crazy she-wolves.” James said. “I can be but no. I was raised not to be a b***h unless I absolutely had to. My parents were always so proud to show off that we were always very well rounded and respectful children.” I said. “Good to know, thank you.” James said. We drove to school and didn’t really say too much. They asked basic questions about who I was and what type of stuff I was into. I don’t think the guard thing is going to be too bad as long as they get to stay as my guards. We pulled up to the school and it was right after 2nd period started. James came and opened the door for me and let me out of the car. They both walked me into the school and to my class. “We won’t be in class with you, but we will be here without intruding.” Avery said. I walked in to my class and everyone's eyes were on me burning a hole through me. I hurried as fast as I could to my seat. I sat down and I heard some people laughing “Well, it was sure nice for our Luna to bless us with her presence.” I heard a male voice say. I turned around and saw Keegan and Bella snickering. “Oh, yes. And how great it is to see the non-alpha son and the wannabe Luna as well.” I said rolling my eyes. “Take a joke, Cordelia, gosh. I don’t know what Sam sees in a bitter b***h like you.” Bella said. “Sam sees a lot in me, mainly the fact that I’m not a selfish and mean entitled bitch.” I said turning around smiling at her. “I am your next Luna whether you see what he sees or not, and if I have to give you the same lesson and speech your sister got this morning, I will be more than happy. You are going to respect me and if you don’t, there is no room for you in this pack.” I said hovering over her. She sunk down into her desk mumbling under her breath as I walked back to my desk. “Alright guys, now that you two are done.” my history teacher said “You all are graduating! And I’m so happy for you all. Today is going to be your last day in the school. We just go confirmation from the principal that you are no longer required to stay after today and we will be dismissing you at lunch. But as for your time here today, you basically have a free day. We are about to be dismissed into the auditorium and the cafeteria for the rest of your scheduled day. I am very proud of each and every one of you!” he said. Thank goddess, I don’t think I could have stayed in that class too much longer. I don’t know what I did to Keegan or Bella for them to hate me as much as they do, but I couldn’t deal with it today. While I was waiting for us to be dismissed I mind-linked Sam to let him know what was going on. “Babe, we’re being dismissed at lunch and have been dismissed for the rest of the week. Also, I’m sure your brother has already complained, but I went off on him and Bella Akins this morning.” I said. “You haven’t even been gone an hour and you’re having to say something to them. Don’t worry, I will handle them accordingly. I’ll see you when you get home, come to my office when you get here.” he said back. We were finally dismissed and I mind-linked Christina, I’d never done this before so it was so weird, who even needs a cell phone anymore. “b***h where are you at?” I said. “Cafeteria, get your ass here now Luna!” she yelled back. I walked through the door and felt even more eyes on me. I was the future Luna, not a side show but these people were looking at me like I was a mystery. I walked over to Christina and Joseph and wrapped both of them in a hug. “I missed you guys so much! I have so much to tell you!” I said. “You better spill! I see that mark on your neck! How was it?” Christina asked earning her a growl from Joseph. “Oh, shut up babe. You should be used to these conversations by now.” she said slapping his arm. “It doesn’t mean I want to hear about my best friends s*x life.” he snapped back at her. “Well I do!” she said. “Then I’m going to go get something to eat. I don’t want to hear it.” he said kissing her head as he walked away. “Spill, now!” she said. “It’s been a crazy couple of days Chris. We marked each other. I met his parents and he went and met mine. We shifted yesterday together.” I said hoping vague details would be enough for her. “I also threatened to banish Bethany this morning when we found her in our room half naked.” I said. “She was what?!” Christina screamed. “Yeah, Sam carried me to our room for.. fun time. And she was in our room waiting in our bed in lingerie and said she was waiting on Sam. I had her by the throat and was screaming in her face. It’s the first time I had to use my Luna tone. It’s so weird how it works but it worked. The entire pack house ended up in our room when they heard. I told her if she tries anything with me I was going to banish her. I haven’t even been sworn in yet and I had to threaten to banish someone.” I said. Christina's jaw dropped and i nodded. “Chris, I’m really falling for him. Things have been amazing with him. He’s been perfect, he’s really helping me through this whole Luna thing. Somehow he makes me feel like I’m going to be perfect at this even though I am absolutely terrified. He makes me feel like I can do absolutely anything.” I said. “I’m so happy for you babe, you deserve it! You’re going to make a perfect Luna. And thank goddess you went off on that b***h! I’m surprised you didn’t kill her. She knows how crazy she-wolves are and she still went for it.” she said. We gossiped for what felt like forever before Joseph came back. “Are you done being nosey yet babe?” he said kissing Christina on her head. “I guess, she won’t give me any details.” Chris said rolling her eyes. “I gave you a lot of details though!” I said laughing. I know she wants to hear about the s*x but it’s too new for me to talk about. We all sat around and joked and gossiped like it was any other day. I can’t believe this is our last day of school, we graduate next week. I become the official Luna this weekend. “I need you to come to the packhouse tomorrow, Sydney and Alyssa are planning my Luna ceremony with Mackenzie but they can’t plan it without my best friends help, you can come if you want Joe, it’s going to be a lot of party planning.” I said. “I think I’ll pass, just leave that to the people who know what they’re doing. Plus, I think they’re going to start the more aggressive training for all the graduates that are wanting to try for the army sometime this week so I’ll be in training.” he said. I knew Gabriel was looking over some possible recruits so hopefully they notice him, best friend or not, he was an amazing warrior. When we became friends, dad trained us all together so I know he learned from the best. We sat there for a little while longer before Principal Harrington came in “Hello graduates! I just wanted to come in and congratulate you all and tell you how proud I am of you. This is your last day here until graduation guys. I know you’re all ready so I wanted to personally come tell you, you’re free! Go have fun guys, you are all dismissed!” he said. An uproar of cheers erupted and everyone started running for the door. “Well guys, we did it!” I said hugging my friends. “Hell yeah we did!” Christina said. We were waiting until some of the crowd passed and a whiff of cinnamon and apples hit my nose and my mouth started to water, I knew he was here. I felt arms around my waist and I was lifted from the ground. “Did you think I was going to miss your last day?” he said. If I didn’t have all eyes on me before, I definitely did now. “I missed you too much, I couldn’t help myself, I had to come pick you up. Congratulations baby, you did he.” he said. “Thank you” I said. He put me down and spun me around and kissed my lips hard and passionate. “If they’re gonna stare, we’ll give them something to stare at.” he said smirking. I heard Christina behind us clearing her throat “Hello to you too Sameul.” she said. “Sorry guys, how are you two? Congratulations to the two of you as well.” he said. “We’re f*****g great! We did it!” she said. Sam started laughing “You definitely did.” he said “Would you two like a ride home?” he asked. “Sure! It was pretty weird not having Cordie give us a ride this morning, we have some time to make up for.” Christina said. We all walked down the hallways towards the door and there was Bella and Keegan standing at the exit. As soon as Bella saw Sam she started smiling and batting her eyes but as soon as she looked over at me the same bitter look came across her face. “Unless you want the same treatment your sister received this morning, I suggest you change the look on your face.” Sam said. The grimace on her face turned dark and she screamed “She’s not going to touch me! I don’t care what you or anyone else says, she is trash and she is no Luna! She’s worthless and always has been, it’s a pity that’s who you want as your mate when you could have someone like me! How pathetic.” “Kill her! How dare she disrespect us! We are the Luna and she is a beta, kill her!” Zarya said in my head but before I could even react Sam had her up by her throat “The last thing she will ever be is worthless! She IS your Luna and you will not be a part of my pack if you think any different! I am not and have never wanted you or your sister as my mate. You are entitled and mean. You are a disgrace to this pack and your behavior is unacceptable.” he said “And for your disrespect after you have already been warned. James, Avery take miss Akins to the cells.” Seeing my man protecting me is the sexiest thing I have ever seen in my life. And seeing Bella’s face contort was way worth it. James and Avery walked over to her and her eyes went black, I knew her wolf was in control. “I’ll be damned if I go down over an unworthy Luna.” Ada, Bella’s wolf, screamed. As soon as those words left her mouth you could hear the bones in her body start to crack and mangle as she shifted into her wolf. There in front of us was a red colored wolf with piercing brown eyes. She stood there snarling, almost looking rabid as she snapped and growled. She crouched down and lunged at Sam and before I knew it Zarya had taken over and shifted us. We jumped forward and our jaws snapped shut around her neck, we stood over her and held her in place waiting for her to submit. I’ve never felt so much power running through me, it was almost euphoric. She continued fighting and trying to free herself but couldn’t get move more than a few inches but the more she moved the harder my bite became. After what seemed like forever she submitted and stopped trying to fight me. I took a few steps and felt the sparks from Sam touch my skin. “Okay, now if Bella is done here, James and Avery please escort her back to the cells. We will set a trial up and inform her father.” Sam said. “Yes sir, we mind-linked our team and they have a van pulling in right now with a paralytic so this doesn’t happen again.” Avery said. Bella laid there still in wolf form whimpering, she knew better than to even try and get up. I knew I wasn’t technically Luna yet, but I was gaining the Luna aura the closer Sam and I got. “Cordelia, I’ve got a stash of clothes in the alpha office for things like this, go grab something. Christina go with her, we’ll wait here for you two.” Sam said. Christina and I made our way to the office and when we walked through the doors Christina turned around “b***h, what the f**k was that? How did you shift so fast? And why are you so big?” she asked. I shifted back and walked over to get some clothes. “I don’t know, I was just mad and it happened. As far as being so big, I don’t know either. Zarya said we were special but she won’t tell me why, she says I have to figure it out myself.” I said. “And you getting that angry, you looked like you were going to kill her. Sam is the alpha, he could have handled that without you jumping in.” Christina said with worry in her voice. “I wasn’t thinking about that, all that ran through my head was to protect my mate. If it came down to it, I guess I would have killed her if I had to. This Luna aura has been getting stronger the closer our bond gets so I was just hoping that she would submit and she did. Don’t sound so worried Chris, you would have done the same for Joseph. This is the second time she's tried me, just like her sister. They have to learn to respect me and who I’m going to be for this pack.” I said. “I understand babe, I do, but that was scary. I’ve never seen you that mad before.” she said. “I know and I don’t like being that way, but they’re going to learn one way or another.” I said. She shrugged her shoulders and waited for me to finish dressing. They had everything for me to wear except shoes, which was fine, I could just walk barefoot. We walked back out to the guys to see a very angry Sam yelling at his younger brother. “Why in the hell would you be friends with these girls? They follow you around hoping to be your brothers mate while being some of the most vile people I have ever met. You have alpha blood, you have potential, you never have to work a day in your life. I just don’t understand why. Your birthday is in two weeks, do you want to meet your mate and deal with the same crazy s**t we have to deal with with those two? Those girls are moving out of the packhouse and will be barred from entering until further notice. The only time they will be welcome is for the mate events until they find their mate, and that is more than generous.” he said to Keegan. “I’m not friends with them, they’re an easy lay. I don’t need them around, banish them, I don’t care.” Keegan said, rolling his eyes. “We will speak when we get to the packhouse, go get your car and meet me in my office.” Sam said. “I am very sorry for you two having to see that, you are welcome to join us for a ride still. I have some things I would like to share with you two but I understand if you don’t want to.” Sam said. “We’ll still ride, my best friend is just a badass with some awesome instincts.” Joseph said. “That she is, she was amazing.” Sam said, smiling at me. There was one of of the packs limousines outside waiting for us, we all piled in and sat down. “So, Cordelia tells me that you all are lifelong friends and you two ended up being mates, correct?” Sam asked. “Yes, we found out right before the ball. Well, I found out, he already knew since he turned eighteen.” Chris said grabbing Joseph’s hand. “I have a proposition for you two if you’re interested.” Sam said. “And what would that be?” Joseph asked. “We have an open room in the packhouse on the Delta floor, they have agreed if you are interested to have you two move into the packhouse to be closer to Cordie. Or I have a two story cottage, it’s closer to the edge of the territory but it is a private home that is available. You don’t have to choose right away and you’re more than welcome to change your mind at any point. Both homes come furnished as you know, basic furniture, if you want better you have to buy better. What do you think?” he asked. Christina and Joseph looked at each other and their eyes frosted over, they were discussing in their mind link. They turned back to us and said “We would gladly take the room in the packhouse for now, maybe after we have children the cottage would be better but as of right now the packhouse seems like the best choice for us.” Sam nodded and turned to me “Is this alright with you, my love?” he asked me. “Duh! I get all of my favorite people under one roof!” I screamed jumping in his lap hugging his neck. “Okay, well then it’s settled, I’ll have our omegas come and get your belongings this evening just pack it up and they will bring it all to your room. Now, about jobs, I know your intentions Joseph, Christina are you looking to work too? If you are I have a secretary/assistant position opening up at Canis industrial corporate office if you are interested. Or Cordelia will need an assistant at the packhouse when she gets all of her Luna duties. Neither are necessary but they are both options.” he said. “Give me a couple days to think about it, sorry babe, I would love to be your assistant and be with you everyday but working at Sam’s company sounds amazing too.” Christina said. “No worries, you’re my best friend, I just want what’s best for you.” I said to her. We pulled up to Joseph’s house and Christina and him both got out “Don’t you need to go pack Chris?” I asked. “After we found out we were mates, we spent the entire night moving all of my things into his house. My parents never wanted me there and were never home, so I left the key and took all my things.” she said sighing. I know it hurts her how her parents treat her, and honestly it made no sense. Her mom struggled her whole life to make things work but her dad hated being around her. He was a drunk and was never home but when he was he was nothing but hateful. He said because he didn’t put his hands on Chris or her mom, that it wasn’t abuse. “I’m so sorry Chris.” I said “I’ll see you two later okay?” Christina said. They closed the door and I sat back with Sam who immediately grabbed me up and tossed me onto the bigger seat in the limousine. He was immediately on top of me looking directly in my eyes “Do you know how sexy that was?” he leaned down to my neck inhaling my scent in deeply. “I don’t know what came over me, she jumped and a switch flipped in me.” I said with shaky breath. “Seeing that switch flip has had me wanting you since it happened, you make me want to take you right here.” he said pressing his erection onto my sweet spot causing me to moan. “Tell me it’s mine.” he whispered in my ear. “It’s all yours, all of me is yours.” I said causing him to growl deeply. He leaned in and crashed his lips to mine pushing his tongue into my mouth. I pulled him down making him kiss me harder as I grinded my hips onto him. I felt the car come to a stop and before it was even in park the door swung open “It’s about time Sammy!” Dennis screamed. “Ooooh, cockblocked again.” he laughed. “Dennis, I swear I’m going to put you down there with your sister!” Sam said rushing to the door. “Haha, gotta catch me first.” he said running. “Babe, it’s not worth it. Let’s go get you back to work.” I said. “Tonight, it’s you and me.” he said stealing a hard kiss before we went to his office. He mind-linked everyone to make their way to the office and everyone met us there. “Alright guys, what information do you have for me?” Sam asked.
