Chapter 3: What About Us Now?

1912 Words
The last two days have been so boring, and I can't even hang out with my friends since Steph is still out of town, and Kimmy is with her grandparents for the week. The only thing keeping me from wanting to jump off a cliff is my constant correspondence with Liz. We have only grown closer the past few days, and it is finally Wednesday(our date night). The only thing I want to accomplish from today's date is to become an actual couple. We have already been on two dates plus tons of texting, that is enough time right? I hope we aren't rushing things, even though we have already made out a ton, and really enjoy each others company. I just don't want to mess things up with her. Where should I take her today? Should we go to the museum, I know that a ton of the exhibits are pretty cool. I don't really think that is an ask her out sort of setting. I could just invite her over to play some board games then pop the question. I could even set the scene with some candles or something. No, that would be too cheesy. I got it why don't we go play some like table tennis or something at the gym, and on the walk home I could take us to a good view, and ask her out. Good thing Steph picked out my clothes again. I chose a dark gray eight-point cap, a black Bardot, and black skinny jeans. I think my outfit kind of sucks, but Steph said it looked good. I should probably grab a quick snack before I leave. I plan on not getting kicked out of the date spot this time, so I need to fuel up. I think I will eat something filling. I open my cabinet to find a whole unopened box of cookie dough pop tarts. I grab a package, and shove them in the microwave to warm the up. Liz's POV "Mom what the hell are you doing?" Eyebrows arched she gave Liz a semi pissed look. "I told you that you are going to meet my fiance today, and I guess you completely forgot," June said peeved. "Damn, and I had a date planned too. When am I supposed to meet this guy?" "Tonight at seven, you had better be back by then. If you want to bring your date back you can. It will probably make things less awkward, since I can tell you're already not liking that this is happening. " June went to the bathroom to finish getting ready. "Who are you dating anyway, is it another one of those girls that won't even go out in public with you?" "No, this one is different. She is smart, funny, insanely attractive, and she is super open about of relationship in public. So open in fact that we got kicked out of the arcade for making out. Apparently some mom had gotten offended that her kid was witnessing premium gayness." Mom let out a laugh like I was joking about the last part. "Well I am sure she is lovely dear, but try not to get banned from places. You do know there is a time and a place for those types of situations right?" "Yeah, I know mom," I said. Mom finished putting on her makeup, and pulled me into a hug. "What time are you to be back here to meet my fiance?" "Seven," I said dully. "I can't wait to meet the girl you're so smitten with. I bet she is beautiful." I locked the door as mom stepped out of the house. Great, now all I have to do is get ready, but first I should text Macey. Liz: Hey Mace we're still on for five right? Macey: Yep, anything in particular you would like to do? Liz: Well there is something I would like to ask you to do for me. I really hate putting you in this position though. Macey: What is it? You know I will always try to support you right? Liz: Well I have to meet moms new boy toy tonight, and I was just wondering if you would want to come with me to meet him? I know it's unfair to put you into the position. Macey: I don't mind I really care about you after all ;) what time are we meeting them? Liz: We would need to be back at my house by seven. Macey: How does ping pong sound until then? Liz: It sounds fine to me. I start fixing my hair and apply a subtle amount of makeup. I picked out a cute top, and what I would consider shorter shorts than I would normally wear. I really hope she likes them. I hear knocking on my door. I sprint to answer it and am greeted with the most beautiful girl in the world. The local community college has a free recreation gym for everyone in the community. I usually never use it. I have never been a physically active person, but Macey is built like a personal trainer. She has abs, and I find it really sexy. I feel like she is a really active person. I don't think I could compete with her in physical activity, but here we are about to compete. At least I sort of have a chance, ping pong is pretty fun. If I lose I can still tease the hell out of her for losing to me at the arcade. "Come on Liz, let's play," Macey said enthusiastically. "Fine," I huffed out. I served the ping pong ball, and Macey received it perfectly and hit it back to me. My coordination fails me as I hit it off of the table. "f**k!" "Pfft what's wrong babe having trouble?" I shoot her a dirty look, and I move to serve the ball the second time. This time when I received it, I hit the net. I can't believe how bad I am failing at this right now. One thing is clear though we both have our own strengths and weaknesses. I can whoop Macey's ass when it comes to video games, but the six-packed Macey beats me in physical sports. At least I know she has endurance. The game continued until my eventual defeat. "f**k Macey, have you no mercy?" I ask sarcasm seeping from my voice. "Not when it comes to the woman I like. I have to go all out," Macey said a blush appearing on her face as she realized what she had said. My brows furrowed as I looked into her eyes. She was clearly anxious about how I would respond. "Look Mace, what are we doing," I ask seriously? "What do you mean? I don't know about you, but I am on a date with the most gorgeous woman on earth. To be honest I wish the gorgeous girl and I were going out, but I am scared of what the girl will say." Macey moved swiftly around the ping pong table and ended her journey right in front of me. "You know, I am in a very similar situation. I have hung out with the funniest, sweetest, and most beautiful woman in my life, but I am scared of asking her out too," I said. "Macey." "Elizabeth." Macey pulled me into a tender slow kiss. My chest pounded as we broke apart, and the fact that some guy had turned watching the mom didn't help. My cheeks flushed as we picked up our equipment to turn it in and leave. "Hey, we didn't get kicked out this time," I said laughing. "Well why would we get kicked out this time. I mean we weren't pinning each other down like last time." "You have a point there." She took my hand as we hit the sidewalk. I checked the time, and we still had thirty minutes to make it back to my house. I just hope this mystery man treats my mom well. She deserves to be happy. "Want to walk around for a bit? We still have some time left before we have to be back," I asked wiggling my eyebrows. Macey let out a giggle then nodded. We were walking for quite a while until we hit a line of trees that encompassed the park. We stopped along the line of trees to admire the sunset. Macey turned to me with an adorable look on her face. I couldn't help but to cup her cheeks and pull her into a passionate kiss. Her hands trailed my back before stopping at my ass. She slipped her hands into the back of pants before digging her nails into my cheeks. I let a groan out into her mouth. Taking a few steps back I hit a tree softly, and Macey only increased the roughness of the kiss. She pulled away and trailed her soft lips down my neck. We really should stop and go to meet my mom. "Macey," I said while catching my breath. She pulled away panting, and took a step back. "I am sorry I got kinda carried away, and I-" I cut Macey off that wasn't the issue. "No it's fine we can finish this later, but right now we need to go meet my mom. We are running really late." I take her hand, and we continue down the road. We started talking about meeting each others friends, and then we moved onto talking about some of our favorite tv shows. Dusk was approaching fast and we had five minutes to get home before I got into major trouble. The crowds on the streets had thinned heavily, and we approached the last block. "What should I do if I don't like him?" Macey gave me a bright smile. "If you have any worries just share them with me. You're my girlfriend now, and that means we need to be open about our problems to each other. I want this to last because honestly you're the most amazing person I have ever met. I will always carry your burdens if you carry mine." She ended her speech with a warm smile. My lips curled into a similar shape as we approached my door. "I am sure this will go fine. My mom doesn't have that bad of tastes." Macey turned me around, and pressed me into the frame. It was a short but sweet kiss. "You have me it will be fine." I nodded in response, and proceeded to open the door. Whenever we entered the hallway I could hear boisterous laughter, distinctively male. It sounded deep. Macey and I entered the living room to find a black haired man with a small well maintained beard and dark blue eyes. He was smiling toward my mom. "Hello, I am Elizabeth" I interrupted. The man shot me a nice smile. "I am Lucas." "Mom meet my girlfriend. Her name is Macey and she is the most amazing person I have ever met," I said looking towards my mom and Lucas Both of their attentions hit us and immediately I was scared. The look that flashed across the man's eyes was of sheer shock. "D-Dad? What are you doing here," Macey asked taking a step back. Her hand clamped down on mine as she stared at the man. One thing kept being repeated in my head. What about us now?
