Chapter Two

1956 Words
-Victoria POV- “I hope this semester goes smoother for us.” I say as Andres drives me and Isaac to the school. “I just hope they have our room ready.” Isaac says irritated. I go scoot closer to him and put a hand on his knee and I see him relax. (He is always so grumpy but inside he is such a big teddy bear.) Luke is already in school waiting for us, he left yesterday to visit his family, and even though I tend to go all the time with him, this time I stayed with Isaac. We had our last meeting yesterday with the Blood Thorn Pack, it was agreed that the fighting would stop for the time being. (That Alpha is an i***t. What is his endgame? He is so reckless.) ("Well, he is young.") Archion says. (Yea, I know but even he can see he doesn't stand a chance. Even if I wasn't there, Isaac's pack is too big and too strong for him to even do any damage.) ("True, and Isaac also took command of his pack when he was even younger and he was never that reckless so I guess that's no excuse..") "Exactly." I say out loud. Isaac looks at me arching one of his eyebrows up. "Archion?" I nod and smile. I lean into Isaac and he puts his arm around me. “I can’t wait to see Marina. I miss her.” I say. “But you talked to her all the time.” Isaac says. “Yea but it's not the same. And Holly, I only talked to her once. I miss them.” I say feeling sad. He smiles. “Well, we’ll see them soon.” I look out the window and see that we are in town already. “Can we stop at the diner before we get to school? I want to get one of their milkshakes.” I say still looking out of the window. He kisses my cheek. “Of course.” Andres parks right in front of the diner. We go in and like always everyone stares at us and then they start to whisper. We take a seat at the corner and then the waitress comes to take our order. "What can I get for you hons." She says with a smile. We came here all the time last semester so she knows us more than most of the townspeople around here. She takes our orders and leaves. “Is it always like this?” Andres asks looking around. Isaac nods. “Yea, they think the academy is weird so they think we are weird... and they aren’t wrong.” “Trouble makers, that’s what they are. They should stay up there in that academy of theirs.” An old man says. He is really old so even though he’s trying to whisper, he says it loud. We ignore them and once we are done, we head our way. We arrive at the school and Luke is already outside waiting for us with Parker. I get out and hug him. “I missed you Vic. I hate being without you.” Luke says. (He’s so sweet.) I kiss him and then look at Parker. “Hey!” He smiles. “Hey.” “So, do we have our own room or not?” Isaac quickly asks. “Yes, the headmaster just told me that they had a room for us.” Luke says. Isaac sighs feeling relieved and so do I. They were at each other's throats at the end of last semester. I hope this will make it better. We hear someone running out the front door and I get a glimpse of Marina almost flying towards me and taking me in a hug. “God I missed you girl!” Marina shouts. Nolan walks behind her. “You’re going to break her if you keep hugging her like that.” “Oh please, my b***h is a dragon, she can handle it.” Marina says still hugging me. “I missed you too.” My words come out muffled. "You know I still need to breathe, right." She giggles and lets me go. “So now that that is settled, you and I need some girl time soon.” “Yea, once Holly gets here, we should plan to have a girl's night.” I say. We both look at the guys and squint our eyes at them daring them to complain. Nolan and Luke smile awkwardly but Isaac rolls his eyes and crosses his arms. Parker just starts laughing remembering last time. “We should go check our room.” Isaac says. We head up the stairs following Luke. Students stare at us like they always do. They all know what I am by now. Some of them are scared of me and some of them are just curious. Anika and Jillian don’t even dare look at me anymore. Whenever they see me, they quickly avert their eyes which I am completely ok with. “Is the room in the attic again?” I ask. “They actually completely expanded the attic into another floor with multiple rooms.” Marina says. “What?” I say surprised. “Yea, that’s where all the mated couples' rooms will be at. So, that means that we are neighbors!” She says excitedly. “Of course, your room will be more modified for the three of you.” When we get up to the attic, Marina was right, it looks just like the other floors with multiple doors to rooms. “That one there is yours.” She points to a room and then to another one next to it. “That one is mine and Nolan’s. We are right next to each other.” The guys and I walk to our room and when we open it, it looks better than before. It has everything our other room used to have but is bigger. It actually looks like a real apartment. We go through the doors and the boys quickly pick their rooms. There's another door with a big bathroom. Last time they had bathrooms in each of their rooms but now we have to share this one which is not bad since its big. There’s another door left. “Oh please be a big closet.” I mumble. Isaac opens it for me and I gasp when I see another bedroom. “I get my own room this time? Yes!!” I say feeling excited. “It’s not like you need it.” Luke says and Isaac nods agreeing with him. “Oh yes I do, when I get tired of you guys being all Alpha male, I’ll go to my own little corner of peace.” I say crossing my arms. Luke lifts his hands in surrender. “Ok fine.” "By the way..." Marina whispers and walks closer to us. "I hear that they are keeping that Scarlet woman in one of the magistrate's facilities near here, but I don't know the exact location." "They keep those places very secret." Luke says. "I'm not sure that even the headmaster will know where it is." "Well think of something." Isaac says I know he is trying to make me feel better. We spend the rest of the day unpacking. Night comes and it’s my time to spend with Luke. “Mmh, that feels good Luke.” I say almost moaning. He chuckles. “Admit it, I’m the best at massages.” I smile with my eyes closed lying on the bed and laying my head on the pillow as Luke eases the tension in my body with his hands. “Yea, you are.” I say softly. “I love you, baby.” He whispers in my ear. I turn around and hug him. He leans in and lies on my chest as I caress his head. “I love you too.” I whisper back. The next day, early morning, I head to my room and get ready. When I finish I head to our little living room where I see two very handsome Isaac and Luke in their school uniforms. (I love how they look in it.) A knock comes on our door. I open it to see Marina with Nolan. “What class do you guys have first.” She asks. “Let me see... I have... eeww calculus.” I say scrunching my face. “It’s not that bad.” Isaac says. “Nerd.” Luke mumbles. Isaac looks back at him and squints his eyes at him. “Do we all have the same class, yay!” Marina cheers. (I don’t hate math as long as it stays in the basic stages, calculus is not basic.) I sigh. “Let's go, we don’t want to be late on the first day.” We head downstairs and get breakfast first then we start to head to the class. Out of nowhere a guy I have never seen before stands in front of us. He is tall with black hair slicked back, brown eyes and he is lean, not too skinny, and has tattoos on his arms. I can see some through his neck. He is actually very good-looking. “Victoria Winters, I mean, the great Victoria Winters.” He gives a courteous bow. I look at Marina and she silently shakes her head looking just as confused as I am. Isaac and Luke each stand on my side and cross their arms watching the guy carefully. “Allow me to introduce myself, I am Zachary Adams. I am Mrs. Adam's nephew.” The guy says. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is actually really nice. “Oh, are you new here?” Marina asks. He smiles. “Yes, the moment I heard that an actual draconian was in this school, I knew I had to go here as well.” I squint my eyes at him. “Why? What for?” I ask him not hiding my suspicion of him. “Well, my family is the keeper of history, I am very invested in my family's archives and I want to continue our legacy. So, I want to learn all I can about your kind.” He says with a big smile. I stare at him not knowing what to make of him but I know I don't trust him. I can feel the guys are a little tense next to me. “No thanks.” I say and start to walk away. Marina and the guys follow me. “I am a very skilled warlock!” He shouts. “If you ever need my help, I’ll be happy to lend a hand!” He continues to shout as we leave him in the hallway. We all continue to walk to our class. Once in our first class, we sit and I start to look through my bag for my notebook. I grab something from the bag pack that feels weird. In my hand, I see a small strange statue with three monkeys. It is the three wise monkeys of see no evil, hear no evil and say no evil. They have jades for eyes and as I take it out I accidentally break one of the monkeys off. I stare at it wondering where it came from and why was it in my bag pack. I stare at it for a while longer and it really gives me the creeps. I put it back in the bag pack and decide to deal with it later. (Maybe I'll ask the guys or Marina... how did it get inside my backpack?)
