Vivienne walked further inside casually now before setting her purse down near the seating area. Too casually. Like she already knew the office. Like she’d been here before. That detail bothered me more than I wanted to admit. “You changed the shelves,” she commented lightly while glancing around. Adrian stayed expressionless. “Yes.” “I liked the darker wood better.” “I didn’t ask nor do I care about your preferences ” Ouch. But somehow— she didn’t look offended. Which meant she was probably used to Adrian being cold. And honestly? That bothered me too. Vivienne turned toward me again afterward. “You replaced Katherine?” I blinked. “The previous executive assistant?” Her lips curved slightly. “Adrian changes assistants less often than ties.” Silence. Oh she was GOOD
